Visited this restaurant on a Friday night and it was jammin’. The restaurant has an industrial chic feel with stainless steel tables and Edison bulb lights. The line was EXTREMELY long. We probably waited at least 30 minutes just to order. This was kind of a buzz-kill, and it felt like the restaurant was ill-prepared for being busy. We ordered two pizzas, a bottle of wine, and an appetizer. All of the food was amazing. The ingredients in all the dishes were extremely fresh and tantalizing. The pizza was some of the best pizza I have ever had. Will definitely return, but probably on a week-night.
Located away from the hustle of the main strip of Edgewood is a gem of a pizza joint. It looks to be in a old warehouse and screams a upper class pizza restaurant but this isn’t the case and that isn’t a bad thing. You order at the front counter or the large bar at the back. They have a great draft and beer list to start and a solid salad selection. The pizza is very good and is a Italian style offering but what really shines is the Pizza Fritta. These are stuff with various toppings like a calzone but a monster size (enough for two people to share) and its twisted close then deep fried. This thing is amazing and is served with a huge bowl of sauce. So if you want to skip the line for Antico drop by this place and you will be satisfied.
The pizza was really good and the place has a very lighted and cheerful ambience. The process of seating arrangement could have been smoother. Overall, a recommendable place for a casual hangout with a good selection of beer.
Great pizza, great service, pretty and inviting atmosphere, in an awesome part of town. Not quite Neapolitian style pizza but still delicious and worth a trip.
Delicious!. The pizza and atmosphere here are great, I really enjoyed my time here. Nice bar and layout. I love that you can watch your pizza being made and then cooked in the fire oven.
I was lucky enough to experience Ammazza for the first time with a large group of people from Dad’s Garage Theatre Company, so I got to try a lot of things from the menu in one shot. Boy was it a great shot! Spaghetti Fritti is delightfully decadent must-have starter. This was followed by a dizzying array of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Each one was better than the last, but special mention must be made of their breakfast pizza, and I could eat myself into a coma on their fantastic crust alone! Get thee to Ammazza!
The last couple reviews are totally biased…I’ve been here 7-8 times since opening and it’s always great. Yea, the wait staff isn’t that attentive, but if you need something, just ask and they’ll quickly respond…so next time BB, don’t sit there and watch your wife pass out…da
