First of all the prices are not a $$$$, more like a $$$. This is my go-to place; one it is next to Midtown Theater; two, it is opened late and they have great coffee and desserts; three, it is consistently good and has a tried and true menu. I have been there many times and always had a great experience. Love it.
After the Day?Apres Diem sort of translates to after the day. I would agree that this is a nice place to go after a busy day at work. When the weather is nice, it is very pleasant to sit outside in the courtyard. And the servers are very friendly and encourage you to turn on the relax button.Food was very good. We had eaten a rather late lunch, so we decided to just share a couple of appetizers and a salad. That was plenty. We started with the very rich lobster crostini. There was a generous amount of lobster chunks with some nice mushrooms over a thin toasted bread. We moved on to the two crab cakes which were also quite nice and rich and filling. Then we had the spinach salad which was filled with bleu cheese, raisins and nutsall with a nice citrus vinaigrette dressing. For dessert we shared the chocolate-pecan torte with ice cream.Nothing was fabulous but all was very good and it was good value.Apres Diem is right in front of the Midtown Arts Theatre, so it is a great choice to combine with a movie.
