Delicious BBQ!. Recently, I’ve been REALLY into BBQ, a cuisine that I was never a really big fan of until now. Since I’ve been slowly, but surely, making my way into trying the various BBQ joints in Atlanta, I made it out to DBA for a quick dinner with a friend during their anniversary week! I wasn’t aware of what specials were going on that day, but I will tell you that it was PACKED inside and outside on the patio! Service was a bit slow, but the food was definitely delicious! My friend ordered their wings (Hotlanta-spiciest flavor), while I ordered the Archie Bunker sandwich (pulled pork topped with mac ‘n cheese in-between two slices of Texas-toast). Since it came with one side item, I ordered the creamed corn. About 15-20 minutes later, our meal came out. My friend LOVED her wings, but said that they were not spicy at all (but really juicy and moist!), and I really enjoyed my sandwich. Although I wish that the toast had been buttered and toasted, like it is at Community Q, it was still really good. The pulled pork was moist and tender & the mac ‘n cheese was good & not overly cheesy! I wasn’t a big fan of the creamed corn, but when our server came around and realized that I hadn’t touched it, she immediately suggested that I order a different side item at no extra charge, which I greatly appreciated. I got the fries instead and they were delish! Perfectly crispy, seasoned just right and served in a mini-bucket! Now that was the perfect side item-I mean, you can never go wrong with golden fries right? And don’t forget their housemade BBQ sauces are divine, especially the sweet brown one! DBA is a great addition to the VaHi area-I just wish that the parking lot situation were a tad bit better (they’re either WAY too tight or people just don’t know how to park properly in their given space)! bellavivere.blogspot.com
Yummy!. I had the St Louis Ribs with baked beans and creamed corn and it was all delicious. I guess they stepped it up since all the other reviews upon its opening around 2009.
I got a combo plate and the pulled pork was so dry I legit couldn’t eat it at all. Was super disappointed bc I’d heard such wonderful things ab the place 🙁 we got an appetizer and asked our waitress for plates twice, then had to get up and go to the bar to get them ourselves after she never brought them to us (she looked busy and clearly just forgot). With so many other great BBQ options, this I won’t be back here.
Thank you D.B.A.!!!!. D.B.A Barbeque recently catered my wedding and did an AMAZING job. My wife and I were receiving raving compliments all evening; even now several months after the wedding I am still having friends tell me it was the best barbeque that they have ever had. I was very excited for the food myself as I regularly frequent the restaurant, but they completely exceeded my expectations. I was also very impressed with how quickly they got all of our 150 guests through the buffet, as most wedding buffets take quite a long time; all of our guests had food in less than 15 minutes. The service was honestly even better than the food. Julie, the catering manager, was such a pleasure to work with. She was very friendly, made sure that everything was taken care of, and kept us in our budget. Thank you D.B.A. five stars!
Good BBQ at a good price. The pulled pork is good, but a little on the dry side…Nothing a little bit of the 3 different kinds of BBQ sauce can’t fix. The baked beans are excellent; plenty of smokey flavor mixed with a good amount of sweetness. The Brunswick Stew is nice and thick and full of flavor. The setup is nice and the staff is very friendly. Sit on the patio if the weather allows it. They even have a decent beer selection. Overall, it’s a good BBQ joint with good sides. I definitely recommend the baked beans; some of the best I’ve had in a long time!
BEWARE: NO FUN ALLOWED AND FOOD IS DRY. BEWARE: NO FUN ALLOWED… AND ALL THE FOOD IS DRY. The owner thinks this is a fine dining facility… disguised as a barbecue. Fun is not allowed !!!! Our group of 16 went to celebrate a birthday. We were seated indoors even though i told the hostess that we were a happy and loud group and perhaps we should be seated outside. The hostess assured me that it was a barbecue/bar with fairly loud music and that we would be fine. Then 2 more people who were out and about in the virginia highlands area joined our group. Well the birthday boy decided to say happy birthday to himself and said it loudly and proudly. The owner, mr non-personality, decided to tell the birthday boy very rudely, that if he did that again then he would throw us out. No warning no nothing, he could have said sir I realize it’s your birthday and a very happy birthday but could you please keep it down instead he threatened us. his. We should have left right then and there. We stayed and I asked to talk to the owner twice, he did not respond. He was working getting the food out. I then myself got up and asked him (very sweetly) for a moment of his time (there were plenty of staff). He decided to ignore me and so i got up a second time at which point he was extremely rude and told me that first and foremost that I lied about the number of people in my party and that if i wanted to speak to him then i should call him tomorrow. His attitude was so rude and dry and that explains why all the food that we had was dry as well. He never came to check/mingle with his guests because i believe that he doesn’t have a personality so how can his food be good!
The food is tasty and filling!
