I hadn’t been here in years, but I am glad I stopped by. The prices are great for the amount of food you get. The jerk chicken has an excellent dry rub that is very spicy. You get a leg, wing and breast for $7.25 with two veggies. I had the collards and black eyed peas, which were fairly average but good. The service was very fast and friendly, and the ambience is similar to Little Five Points. The location is not the best, though. Don’t leave any valuables in sight in your car, especially at night.
Great Soul Food. Look, dont go to this place looking for stunning ambiance or exquisite neuvo-cuisine. Do go looking for very reasonable prices, great portions, and well prepared food. They do a great job with consistency and variety at Eats and they have been doing it well for YEARS.
Great Healthy Food. If you like home made chicken and vegetables you have to try Eats. The vegetables aren’t real spicy or cooked wit h fat, I guess so vegetarians can eat there. But hey, add a little salt & pepper and you’ll have some fresh, home made veggies. The collard greens are fresh and are my favorite, as well as baked sweet potato, broccoli casserole, macaroni & cheese, black beans, black eyed peas and corn. They have bar-b-que chicken, lemon pepper chicken, and jerk chicken. The also have turkey lasagna and various types of pasta and sauces. the food is healthy and you wont find healthy food at a better price. You’ll find people from all walks of life dining there and you’ll be glad you tried it.
It’s Okay I Guess. The food here is okay if you like plain country cooking. Don’t let fans of this restaurant fool you into thinking the jerk chicken here is amazing. It is okay considering its cooked by southerners. the food here is not as cheap as people claim that it is by any means. A plate can cost you eight bucks without a drink ten with. The food is very plain with very little seasoning. Its okay if you are just trying grab a quick bite to eat for lunch. I would not go here for dinner only for lunch. On a scale of one to ten I would give them a 7.
One of my personal favorite places to eat in Atlanta. Very affordable, quality food. I also like the fact that what is left at the end of the day is shared with the homeless after the resteraunt shuts down. Bbq Chicken, Broccoli casserole, are my favorite. Don’t expect high end decor and expensive food. Simple and affordable!
Not good. I live super closeby here and have stopped in on a couple of occasions, but honestly I’ve only eaten here once. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the meatballs were dry and gross. A few times since I’ve stopped in, hoping to give it another try, and I’ve left without ordering. I just feel like they have limited options, especially considering I had a bad taste in my mouth (literally) from the pasta.
This place reminded me of the old joke. ‘Do you know the difference between jerk chicken and Alpo dog food?”No.”Let’s eat here.’
