Good ole George’s. Since high school, I’ve been going here on Tuesday nights for trivia. I live in a college town now, but this summer I’m in Atlanta and it’s awesome being able to come here every week again. The burgers are above average (and better than Vortex in my opinion), the service/atmosphere is cool, and there’s something about their fries that just get me hooked. They also have crushed ice, which is a plus for me. As long as George’s is open and I’m in Atlanta, count on seeing me there every Tuesday.
Amazing. Go to George’s almost once a week! Best burgers in the city hands down. So glad that they have tater tots, amazing to dip in ranch dip! Love everything about George’s, the atmosphere, the waitstaff and the uniqueness of the decor. The new bathrooms are very nice as well as the new eating room. If you are in VaHi, make sure you go to George’s!
Best Burgers. Inexpensive and delicious. Next to the Vortex, my favorite burger place in Atlanta.
Best Burger in town. With the current burger trend running amok in Atlanta, many places are claiming to have the best burger in Atlanta. From the over-used chains coming and going, to the Double Coronary Burger at the Vortex (quite an excellent burger, I will say) all claim the title. But if you want the best, consistent burger in Atlanta, head over to George’s Bar and Grill. The burgers and onion rings are consistently cooked very well, with a very simple presentation. Nothing fancy, just a very well done burger.
A dump, but…. George’s is a dump… but for years it was MY dump. The place used to be hazy with cigarette smoke, the duct-taped booth seats appear to date to the 1950s, the bar is chipped to all hell and back, and the less said about the restrooms the better. But damn if this place just doesn’t have character.. and happens to quietly serve some of the best bar food in the city! The burgers and onion rings are awesome! If I could have back all the money I’ve spent at George’s over the years, I could buy myself a new S-class Mercedes… but I wouldn’t have had nearly as much fun!
Great Burgers!. I was next door at Highland Hardware when I decided to stop in and give it a try. I was amazed! I haven’t had a burger that good in a long time. I’ve tried the Vortex, but this place wins hands down.
I keep going back for more…. Up there with Vortex for the best burgers I’ve had in Atlanta. Like a moth to a flame, I keep getting drawn back to the bright neon sign. Everyone raves about Highland Tap’s burgers, but those in the know stay loyal to George’s.
