I’ve eaten here quite a few times since the early 2000s – usually with friends or for short business lunches. Most of the time I’ve ordered sparingly as the menu seems on the high side to me. I can recommend the Cobb salad, two of the appetizers (the chips and the artichoke and crab dip) but haven’t experienced the dinner menu so I can’t really comment on that offering.I ended up at this location after an afternoon performance at the Fox – we were looking for someplace casual to spend a half hour or so while the crowds and traffic from the theater thinned – I hate waiting in a line of cars, inhaling all that stench of idle car exhaust – in any case, Gordon Biersch was the first place we came to that was both open and still in business. What surprised me was the amount of time we were allowed to sit there without being served. I know times are tough but sitting for 10 minutes in the afternoon (about 5:00 PM) seemed rather extreme, especially with so many restaurants hurting from our current economic straights. After looking at the beer menu, I had my old standby – the Schwarzbier (black beer) while my date had the Hefeweizen, which was promptly sent back and replaced by the Schwarzbier. First time either of us had experienced the strong taste of clove in a beer – it was rather a turn-off and won’t be ordered again. I’ve read all the GB literature and know why lager’s are preferable, yadda yadda yadda, but I still favor a nice brown ale or IPA. Just something about the bitterness I like more than a lager (forget about a Pilsner, can’t stand the pissy taste).I had hoped to rate the place higher, but the long wait (service was good once it was started), high food prices and return of one of their signature brews brought this rating way down. The food was palatable but not exceptional – we only had the artichoke crab dip so I wished we had ordered more so I’d have more to compare. I know the current restaurant industry is hurting, but you’d just think those that are left would be that much more keen to keep things at an exceptional or even keel. independentrestaurantreview.com

Loved the ambience at the place, the staff was friendly and helpful. I tried the pasta primavera which was served in a decent sized portion and appealed to my tastebuds. I would go back here with my SO for a romantic dinner and drinks night!

The food was fantastic and our waitress was lovely and personable. The hostess was so rude and seemed to care less about any customers…terrible first impression. Luckily the food made up for her attitude.

Food was fine. (Theo) Service was fine but unattentive. I eat out too often so I am sorta over it all

The food here was incredible. I had the Southwest Egg Rolls and they were so good it made me want to slap a Chili’s employee or two.

Meh. I didn’t have a strong enough reaction to say I didn’t like it; however, I can definitely say do not order the Cajun Pasta. It tasted like something from chef boyardee, so not impressed. And they could stand to work on the host/hostess process.

Good food. Good beer. Eat at the bar. Service is terrible. Too many hostesses. Not enough servers. We waited to be recognized at our table for 10 mins after waiting 30 mins to be seated. Went back to the bar. No one even noticed we had left our table.
