Parking is tight on Edgewood but the meters are free after 7pm. Walked in at around 6:45pm to a packed house. You seat yourself which is a bit of organized chaos when it’s so packed. My wife & I got a seat at the bar. Ordered a $13.50 cocktail that I thought would be 12oz but it was 8. Georgia Mint Jelep – it was surprising well made but just a bit overpriced. The fried chicken wings are bomb – crispy, seasoned, and plenty of meat on the bone. The fried mushrooms are pretty solid as well. Atmosphere was cool as well, they were playing popular hip-hop hits & the waitresses were nice. We will def be back but probably won’t order drinks.
Urban atmosphere. Attentive, friendly staff. Meal + Drink + Gratuity= $20. Chickens taste very similar to Popeye’s Chicken. Beyonce playlist. Would definitely return. Had to park 2 blocks away..
Good Food. Harold’s…. The chicken is good with mild sauce and the sauce is good on the fries. All I can say if you have not been, go get some good Chi-town style chicken. The pizza puff is good too. Love those! The parking can be a hassle, it just depends on the time of day…you know ATL. Usually have to park along the street.
Good, But Over-rated. Hand to God, if I wasn’t sitting inside the restaurant I would’ve sworn it was Popeye’s chicken. Harolds is supposedly top 5 best fried chicken in the country. It’s it’s top 5 out of 50 states then my what a sad picture of the US fried chicken scene.Don’t get me wrong; the fact that it tasted like Popeye’s chicken isn’t a bad thing because Popeye’s is well seasoned and quite tasty. The reviews and positive statements various ppl made about the chicken in various settings, however, had my expectations super high and me wanting something I would only find at Harolds……a flavor or texture or something that was distinctly Harold’s….something that I’d crave and would have to drive all the way to Harold’s to get……I didn’t get that here. What I got was what tasted to me like Popeye’s chicken. All that said, the coleslaw was good and so was the service. I also liked the urban, ethnic feel of the decor. If I lived in the area I’d visit once in a while. But to go out of my way to visit? Nope. I’ll stick to my local Popeyes, as it’s practically the same damn thing.
It was very close to the flavors of Harold’s in Chicago. We will return.
As a native Chicagoan I’ve always loved Harolds but the one here in Atlanta could be better if they had somewhere to park!
