A Must See. This is a great bar and restaurant. I went there recently with some friends and the history of the place is amazing. Its a true local bar in a great neighborhood. The ambience is a bit dated but the service and food well make up for it. It’s a great place to stop with friends if your in the area. Highly recommend.

Hasn’t aged as well as everyone thinks it has. An outdated bar filled with the old cleintelle of dirty old men with nothing better to do with their lives than spend their nights sitting in a bar yelling at the top of their lungs about nothing complimented by cheap food they picked off the Sysco cheap list to bring in and servers that move about as fast as pond water. It’s a great neighborhood bar for the right person and I am not one of them. Honestly I might have considered coming back but the service was painstakingly slow. I’m talking 10-15 minutes between ordering a beer and getting it. It took me an hour and a half to finish 3 beers and not because I was drinking slow. At the end of the day I feel like I wasted my money on a bad experience with food that just was ok at best.

Relax, it’s supposed to be that way…. This place is REALLY old school. In the heart of the Virginian Highlands you get the eclectic scene without the silly over the top, in your face hippy culture. This place has been there since 1953 (i think) and they haven’t cleaned the walls in the bar since. The help is nice and prompt. Really had a great time there and will return when we are in the area.

Pork chop sandwich. I will say no more.

Fine!. My friends and I go here often, even though it’s not my FAVORITE place, it’s always consistent, the staff is super friendly, and there’s hardly ever a wait because the place is so big and always fully staffed, which I like. The best thing they have is their breakfast/ brunch in my opinion! Love their bacon and pancakes!07 Apr, 2011Been a couple of times and always pleased with the food. The Sunday brunch is such a good deal also.

Democrats can cook says this 3rd generation Republican! Spending the weekend in Atlanta and found the restaurant of the Godfather of Democratic politics. A lot of great comfort food on the menu – I hear the breakfast menu is wonderful. I loved the meatloaf and blueberry pie.

An Atlanta Institution. Manuel’s has been around for a very long time, and for good reason. This gathering hole has seen it’s share of big time politicians, celebrities, and plain old common folk. But what makes it stand out is the food. Good, hearty food that you don’t apologize about. It’s a great place to sit around with friends and just have a good time.
