Nice place, but can get better sushi for the price. Hamachi sashimi was just ok. Toro pieces smaller than I expected, but very good fish. The layer cake sushi (Oshi?) is the best sushi here. Cucumber roll seemed intriguing, but flavor of crab was disappointing and mushy.Service was just ok, waiter did seem to know the dishes well.
Really yummy. That poached egg on top of rice cake was really good. It is rare I have something I’ve never eaten before. Sushi was good. Nothing extraordinary or unusual
So so good. Great ambiance and beautiful decor. Must trys include the Dan Dan Noodle, KFC Wings, Crab Noodle, and the Okonomiyaki. Great cocktails and great prices for a restaurant of this atmospher. The servings are smaller but my husband and I usually get 3-4 dishes and are more than satisfied.
Apparently this restaurant doesn’t want your business. I walked into MI at 9:01 on a Monday night and was turned away by the hostess explaining that their last seating was at 9(even though the restaurant closes at 10). I looked down at my watch and said, It’s 9:01, to which she replied, I’m sorry. As my friends and I turned around and began to exit, she said, come back and see us! Was she kidding? I’ll never go back, but it’s ok because we had a fantastic meal at Bocca Luppo. I’m happy that the $200 we spent there didn’t go to MI.There are too many great places in Atlanta who actually WANT our business.
Beef Teriyaki. Uh-Mazing!!!! Be careful it’s very hot (temperature) when you get it.
It’s not a good sign when everyone running and dining at an izakaya are gaijin, and the fact that they need to explain the concept of an izakaya sort says it all. This place is not a real izakaya, but rather a glorified sushi restaurant. The non-sushi menu is very short (only about twenty items) and not at all adventurous, so considering you’ll have around 3-4 items your options are very limited. And it’s way overly priced to boot. Basically, if you’re looking for proper Japanese cuisine, then this is not the place for you. On the other hand, if you want to spend a lot of money at a posh hipster hangout, then look no further. I was very disappointed. That said, the food was okay, but I won’t be going back.
Good…but not if you’re actually hungry. Well, I did not get the memo that this was a tapas place before I tried it out. Wanted something to eat with a friend before the UFC ppv and we decided to come here. I ordered a bunch of items because I was feeling ravenous and felt like splurging a bit. Good thing I did or I would have paid $$$ only to feel like I need a full on burger plate somewhere afterwards. The menu is deceiving. It seems as if the entrees are separate from all the other offerings in portion but they are not. What really is unacceptable is that for a $13 entree (see the Beef Teriyaki) you don’t get any rice, soup or salad. The food is not so good as to warrant such prices for ridiculously small servings. The value is not fair here, and if the food really was next level top notch Then I would understand and get it totally. But its Not. Everything I ordered was fairly tasty, but I would not go out of my way and pay for parking just to get any of those items. I can go to Ege and get a full course meal And have it be Excellent for the price of just one tapas entree here. I liked it, but they need to get real. I’m not a cheap skate, but I believe Strongly in getting a good value for what you pay for, and they fail in that department. As long as budget is not an issue, you will enjoy the food here but be prepared to pay Fine Dining price for just above average food and still leave hungry.
