While in downtown Atlanta for a business trip, our group decided to try Morton’s for dinner on a Monday evening. This location is convenient for the major hotels downtown. If you are relying on GPS software, mine had Morton’s on the wrong side of the street. Morton’s is on the west side.It is probably a good idea to have reservations, but since we arrived early, we were seated after a few minutes of waiting in the lounge.Be forewarned that drink prices here are somewhat steep. A regular domestic beer in the lounge is $7.50, so be prepared. The lounge is relaxing and comfortable, though.I chose the $39 stuffed shrimp for my entree. While quite good, the portions were quite skimpy for the amount served. I mean, this is a dish that is maybe $10-12 elsewhere. The angel hair pasta cheese side was good. The extremely subdued lighting in Morton’s may contribute to the atmosphere, but I found it a little too dark for me to see. Maybe it is intentionally dark so you cannot see the exorbitant prices on the menu. Anyway, the candles were nice.Overall, if you are trying to impress someone, this might be the place to do it. Though, I found it a dining experience I am not interested in doing again since I found it to be a poor value for the money spent.
Went with my family for a birthday party. Poor inattentive service. Tasty steaks and all, but poor service kills everything. Good cocktails. Hal’s is better.
Awesome that they stayed open for us! Meal was delicious, service was professional and polite, cost was high but worth it
I would never dine at a Morton’s again,The wait staff and manager were amateur ! The steak was a 5 out of 10 We brought a bottle of Caymus and requested to pay a corking fee the manager said no, after spending $300 on 3 people we felt insulted ! Go to pampas or Prime don’t wast you time or money on Morton’s the manager needs to be replaced the night we went in there were only five tables seated, you have lost a customer forever
Expensive, but in line with other high end steakhouses when comparing price and quality of food.
Great experience! We almost didn’t go to Morton’s after reading the other reviews but I’m glad we did and felt that I needed to write a positive review. I have ate at Morton’s in other cities and while good they were not as good as Atlanta. Everything from the service, to jumbo shrimp appetizer, to filets and finally our desserts of chocolate cake and creme brle were outstanding.
Mortons Downtown Atlanta – awful. We eat out a ton in Atlanta…great restaurants, great service….my girlfriend decided to try Morton’s and pay, so it was supposed to be a nice treat. The place is dirty, the service was D-, the steaks were at best ok and the most expensive in Atlanta. it was like eating at a bad Applebees. Do not go adn spend $$$$$…..it is unfortunate that so many visitors to Atlanta have to experience this place where there are so many other restaurants you can choose!
