Who You Callin’ a Little Tart?!. Little Tart Bakeshop is a little hard to find. It is on the back side of a repurposed industrial building called The Jane. Once inside it is all brick and steel and exposed stuffso hipster. The setup is a little confusing since the west half of the room (Little Tart) is the bakery and the east half (Octave Coffee) is the beverage spot. So you have to order and pay at a couple different places to put together your meal. Not a problem, just first-time confusion. Now to the food. They were out of their highly regarded almond croissants. So we had to punt and get a few other items. The meringue with nuts and dark chocolate was great. Other pastry items were very good.I guess that Ill just have to go back for the almond croissant. And this time Ill know where to pay.
Carmelatto is
Over-rated although I did enjoy my hot coffee along with cold crissant & jam Danish….service could been wayyyyy better
Most likely the best coffee shop I’ve ever been too. Amazing coffee, great atmosphere, and delicious bakery items.
Your GPS may take you to Six Feet Under but no worries. Just park your car and head to the back of the building. So after you finish your unsatisfying free continental breakfast at whatever hotel you are staying at, head to this wonderful little bakeshop for a tart or cheese puff! I absolutely love the addicting simplicity of the Gateau Basque, a soft almond flour pastry with a layer of citrus and plum jam. It has the crumbly consistency of a soft cookie. Finish off your breakfast with something that doesn’t taste like cardboard.
These guys put the magic in your mouth, then you swallow it!!!!!
