Terrible from start to finish. The service was awful from the moment I sat down. The waiter failed to multi-task and even stood around waiting to clear a table when could have been taking orders. failed to notice when mutiple customers in his section were ready to order. then the fact the pacing of my apps and entree was terrible with a large gap between soup and tempura. Then my shashimi came out only a couple bites into the tempura. the food was also bad the Miso soup was served scalding hot(which kills the probiotics) causing me to burn my tongue. the tempura over battered and the poor quality fish was bland and tasteless. all of this at a huge price has made for one of my worst dining experiences.
Boats of sushi!. We recently ate here two days in a row, after our first encounter with our very friendly and knowledgeable waiter we just had to go back, so we took our New Year’s party of 15 back to get another boat of sushi. Our waiter picked delicious rolls and the chef’s sushimi platter was amazing, everyone had a fantastic time! Definitely try the Kamakaze and Firecracker rolls, and the spicey calamari, I could have just eaten two orders of the calamari and been a happy person.
The slums of thai. Is it the best Thai food I’ve ever had? No! I will say that the service was great (and the waiter seemed to enjoy the view), but the prices were high for what you were getting. I understand that it is located downtown, but lets be realistic…its three blocks from the Publix and the bums live just around the corner.
Poor Quality/Lack of Knowledge. I recently ate here with my family as a Birthday dinner. The place was very nice when you walked in. However, our waitress had no knowledge of half the menu. When I told her I had a food allergy she stared at me blankly and walked away. She also kept asking if we were ready to order when a couple of our party hadn’t arrived yet, and we had just told her to get us different menus. Past the very poor service, the restaurant was incredibly expensive for the quality of the food. The sushi menu was very basic and had nothing of real thought behind it. It was very basic and the types of sushi could have been found elsewhere, but here it was very expensive. The size of the rolls I received was appallingly small. All in all I would never go back, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone try it.
It was Saturday night and we walked in at 9:30 and were told they had just Closed! There was no closing time listed on the doors and it was unlocked.
Not Too Impressed with Dinner. I’m undecided about Pacific Rim Bistro and didn’t vote it up or down. My boyfriend and I ate here together on a Saturday night, and we liked the atmosphere for a date night-cool lighting and not loud. We ordered the tempura fried vegetables, which were mostly good except the sweet potato was too thick and not cooked all the way through. The chef’s sushi special was unimpressive, lacked variety and I honestly do not believe that the sushi was top quality. On the bright side, we greatly enjoyed my boyfriend’s glazed duck. That was really delicious. To its credit, Pacific Rim is always busy after work, so I would give a second chance for happy hour but wouldn’t go back for dinner.
Enjoyed The Bento Box Lunch. We dined here with our 5-year-old daughter and decided to order Bento box combos and a couple of appetizers to ensure we tasted a variety of what they had to offer. We all had some sushi, edamame, shrimp and a several other items. It was all very enjoyable and nicely presented. The wait staff was very friendly and prompt with service despite the fact that this was a busy time for them (weekday lunch). When we are in downtown Atlanta again, we will definitely consider dining here again.
