I believe Rathbuns is the best farm-to-table restaurant in metro Atlanta. The head chef Nick has a personal relationship with the farmers and can explicitly name where most ingredients come from. The menu changes weekly. Best meal I’ve had in Atlanta! I recommend stick to the appetizers since they are about the same as the entrees. Great for romantic or business dates.Price: $$-$$$ (appetizers are about $10, entrees up to $30)Quality: 5/5Service: 5/5Ambiance: 5/5
Expensive but okay. Overpriced but a decent place. martinis were excellent and food was adequate. the street needs major repairs.
Consumer Beware!. Food was ok but not worth charging my card 5 times for almost $200 more than I spent. The only explanation I have been given is there is construction in the area and they will call me back. Meanwhile, I am waiting (still) almost a week for my account to be fixed. Don’t accept credit cards if you don’t have appropriate means to process them. There are many successful businesses that are cash only.Beware!
Only Concern. Was the lighting! Wonderful food (as we expected)! Wonderful ambiance (which we discovered)! Challenging interior lighting (completely unexpected)! We’ll be back but the lighting from the dining room floor to the restroom was difficult. Consider a redesign for safety alone. Other than that it was a great experience. Just a heads up to anyone who may be interested…..
Very Disappointing. We went there last night for my birthday for the first time. While the service was fine, the whole experience was very lacking. I asked for wine recommendations and were given several not on the menu, my steak was over cooked, my date’s steak was so drowned in blue cheese that’s all you could taste. He actually had to send it back as it was not tolerable and way too expensive just to force down. The correction was basically a rinse off and brought back, better but not fabulous. The final was dessert where we ordered the bread pudding and got brought pineapple bundt cake with happy birthday spelled out in chocolate. I truly thought it was a joke, but when the real dessert didn’t come I again had to point that out. Also we asked for coffee with dessert which took a long time as they had to brew a brand new pot just for us. Overall I was expecting a great meal and experience and was truly let down on every aspect.
EXCELLENT. I always wanted to try this restaurant when I visited Atlanta, but due to busy schedule and limited time I wasn’t able to try it in the past. This time we are on our week long road trip and made a point to have dinner at Rathbun’s with my wife. Menu is carefully crafted, service was spot on, extensive wine list added a great fine dine experience. Home made pasta and Chicken Livers A La Plancha Blueberries was delicious. Keep up the good work we will be back soon
Very good, not excellent.. Ate here a while back. Bone marrow was exceptional. Redfish ravioli wasn’t. Mussels were good. Desserts were pretty ok. oysters were good. overcooked lamb app. Biggest issue was gimlet with vodka.Still a very good meal. Frankly, we should have been back by now.
