SIMPLY AWESOME. I visited the Room at Twelve Midtown Restaurant this past weekend for my birthday. I must say I have never been so pleased with the entire dining experience. The food was superb, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was enchanting. The entire staff catered to our every need the whole night. Truly an awesome dining experience!
Great…until now. My husband and I went to ROOM on Valentine’s Day to have a romantic dinner. We have been several times and the service and food have always been outstanding. They have also never been as busy as they were this last time. We made a reservation with someone over the phone. When we got there, the reservation did not come up, so the host said he would be right with us. Over 45 minutes later, I sent my husband to find out what was going on. The host had forgotten about us and seemed upset that we were asking about our table. While we were waiting we wanted to order a sushi roll from the bar. I had to lean all the way over the bar and scream to get the bartendar’s attention and the bar was not even crowded! After we ordered our food, we never saw our waiter again. We had to ask another waiter for coffee. All in all, ROOM is a good place to go if there are no other people there, but once they get busy, they are no longer customer service driven.
Food Good/Bad Service. The atmosphere is great and the food is ok, not the best I have had, but the service is terrible. I like to relax at dinner and not feel rushed but I shouldnt sit there for 30 minutes without a drink. The waitress only checked on us 1 time, didnt bother to ask if we wanted another bottle of wine or something else to drink, she just took the empty bottle and walked away. I thought she was very rude and as we were leaving I heard other customers complaining about the service also. Maybe they need better servers. And it wasnt that busy.
