Serpas Seriously SatisfyingAcross the board, this was an excellent dinner. Service was friendly and efficient. Cocktails were interesting and very good. Food was all delicious. The fried oyster appetizer was wonderful. And the pork chop entre was absolutely amazing. The crme brulee dessert was excellent.
Very, Very Disappointed!!. We were so looking forward to our late brunch reservation at Serpas True Food this past Easter Sunday. We arrive a little early. and were seated at the table in the servers’ work area. Were there other tables? Yes and as soon as it was noted where our table was located, the request was made for another table. We were told by the hostess that there were no other tables available and of course, it was quite evident that there were but since we were not certain whether there were not other diners to come, we accepted her response. All during the meal there was the servers’ traffic back and forth. Most distracting!! As we were served in this crapped area with one member of our party on the end of the table, actually sitting in the aisle and in direct line of the servers’ traffic, it was quite notable that there were plenty of other tables large enough to accommodate our party without one person having to sit on the end of the table right in the aisle of the servers’ traffic. While the food was good and our server was nice, the ambience was not acceptable for the Serpas…a restaurant of its caliber. A table where we would not have had to watch the servers carry out their other maintenance tasks during our meal in the servers’ work area (retrieving and returning the cleaning tools such as broom and dust pan was the most notable). There may have been some explanation for this seating if the restaurant had been crowded but it was not!! Our dining at Serpas was certainly a disappointing experience. We expected more!!
