Horrible customer service. Had friends waiting at the bar upstairs and they wouldn’t let us up eventhough there were plenty of seats open. Don’t waste your time here. And we were guests of the hotel too. Thaddeus and Geoffrey at the check in desk were extremely disrespectful.

Went before renovations, very wonderful dining experience, carefully chosen menu items, very untraditional, the decor of the restaurant is very upscale, the rotation of the restaurant for views of most of Atlanta is extraordinary, even the elevator ride is special. From the time you walk into the hotel lobby to the ride up to the restaurant with the well dressed & professional & proficient staff…you can’t go wrong. For a romantic evening out or to dazzle a visitor…the sundial is the place!

I am ONLY GIVING a 2 because of the view! We stayed at the Westin, and I could not wait to experience this rotating restaurant! By the time we got here after a show at the fox theater, it was 1100. We placed our name in the wait list (30 minute wait) to just be allowed to ride the elevator up. We were directed up the steps to the bar area since restaurant was closed. No guidance for seating. We walked around until we found a two topper tall table. We were planning to have drinks and an after show snack/meal. After waiting 40 mins to be allowed up, we sat down and picked out what we wanted to order. Upon seating, we were handed a menu by a girl who was the bus girl. We waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. Many staffers walked by us not even glancing in our direction. A couple who were seated 20 mins after us (seated behind us) were waited on, and we still had not had a GREETING. WE continued to wait another 20 minutes and still NO ONE! Well needless to say we just left. Wasted an hour of our time for NOTHING! We were prepared to spend at least $50 and were not even welcomed! Will not return. The crowd was a loud, drunk bunch of 20 somethings that were vaping. Will NOT be back!

Tonight I had the worst experience EVER! I will not be back. We came on a Saturday night with a minor in our party hoping to sit at the bar and enjoy drinks, dessert, and the view. Unfortunately we could not sit at the bar due to the minor (it’s the law on Friday and Saturday). I understand that. However, I asked that we be accommodated in the restaurant since we couldn’t sit at the bar. They would not until the last reservation of the evening….10:30pm! That’s when they ask the waiters/waitresses accept dessert only tables. I asked to speak to the manager who offered to bring me dessert and drinks in the observation level and stand there and hold it or sit at the small tables in the elevator lobby! We spent approximately 1 hour on the observation deck and during that time there were numerous empty tables in the main restaurant table. Basically they just didn’t want to accommodate us! I can safely say I won’t be back.

Sun Dial Bar review – not many customers and staff was far from being attentive. Received black coffee luke warm, buffalo wings not crispy, Caesar salad with cheap dressing on it but the added shrimp was cook well. View is amazing. Vodka martini was done with cheap vodka. Ugh. This could be a potentially high class establishment and it really is below par. Oh and it took 20 minutes to deliver cheesecake with 5 customers at 8:35pm. Shameful

Always seeking unique place to dine and wine.? The Sun Dial at The Westin is the must stop destination at downtown Atlanta. The restaurant located on the 72th floor and the Bar on 73rd would give an breathtaking 360 views over the Downtown high rise. Telescopes located strategically in the sun dial allows visitors to scope to various eye catching landmarks. My advice take a look at the HartsfieldJackson Atlanta International Airport from the south side. Those Delta aircrafts do look amazing. The bar on the 73rd takes a full 360 rotation once every 30 mins where as the restaurant on the 72nd, once every 60 mins.Technicalities aside. The Sun Dial’s:Ambience = excellentMenu = excellentBar Menu= Needs a little more alcohol ;-)Pricing = Not BadService =excellentI do recommend the buffalo chicken wings with your drink (caution they are american spicy).Visit, Eat , Drink dont forget to tip the service ladies or guys generously and see if you get a free souvenir like I did…
