The hardest choice you have to make at Superica is commit to a dish. There are so many inventive choices, you want to order twice. Sit back and enjoy this casual Atlanta gem.
Great casual atmosphere, not the typical Mexican restaurant, Abbey was awesome; food was pleasantly excellent, drinks on the high side, normal price but very small serving for a margarita.
Food and margaritas were really solid. Great atmosphere with the walls open on a perfect Fall day. Barbacoa was strong. Sophisticated salas. Fantastic beans as a side. Best anchor at Krog St.
I went to Superica for dinner and really enjoyed it. My husband and I got enchiladas and they were delicious. The enchilada portion was small-ish for the price but it was delicious. The menu in general did not have too many options but everything we got was very good. We got the nachos as an appetizer and loved the different presentation than traditional nachos. The atmosphere was really pleasant and there was simultaneously a relaxed and romantic feel. There was an hour wait when we got there so we put our name down and grabbed a couple of beers at Hop City and walked around Krog Street Market. The wait would have been a bummer anywhere else but since Krog has shopping and places to grab a drink, it flew by. It would be nice if they took reservations. Our overall experience was great.
I did my first trip of what will probably be many for breakfast this weekend. Kudos to them for opening early (8am) on weekends. Service was great even just as they opened up. Menu is not huge, but has some great looking options with a lot of good seafood dishes on the dinner menu. For this breakfast I had tamales and eggs that were just about perfect and served with average-ish refried beans and very good tortillas that looked like they were made in house.About the only relatively big downside I see is that, even for dinner, they don’t take reservations. I understand how this is good for them, but as someone driving a ways to get here, I’m not inclined to risk a hot 2-hour long wait on some summer Saturday night in Atlanta.
