Ordered shrimp and grits but was informed that kitchen said they were out. It was only 6 pm. Prices were $2 higher than what is on their website.…

Just Alright. While staying at the Ellis, Terrace Bistro was very convenient. The atmosphere was odd. I choice to eat on the patio. It had just rained so it smelled like a horse barn (not pleasant!!). The NY Strip taste was excellent but it was fairly tough! I’m not sure what the sauce is on top of the steak but it was delicious! The corn pudding was great but the asparagus was pretty soggy. This restaurant was alright but nothing to really write home about. If I stayed at the Ellis again I’d probably eat at the Terrace. However, I would not choose the Terrace as a dining destination.
Horrible service!. We went there after the SEC championship game. This restaurant was clearly not expecting a crowd, which I find incredulous given it’s walking distance from the Dome. One waiter, for the entire restaurant, who was, apparently, double duty as kitchen staff, too. The manager should be fired for poor planning. We ordered a cup of the soup of the day, one order of chicken wings, and one order of potstickers. To give you a frame of reference for time, we ordered these things during the first quarter of the OSU vs Michigan State game. Two hours later they told us they were out of potstickers (and our other food had still not been delivered). We tried to keep it simple so we just doubled our order of chicken wings. We finally received our food AFTER the game was over, and it was stone cold, all of it, including the soup. Worst meal ever! If it weren’t for the table next to us continually ordering beer and sharing with us, we would have never gotten a drink either. Poor, poor service. I would be a bit more understanding if the waiter had shown any sort of empathy or even apology. He was clearly focused on his tip by servicing the larger tables, who received their food in a more timely manner. I can’t recommend the food or the service. Don’t go!
What a nice evening on the porch. Very good and reasonably priced wine. Shrimp and grits, trout, pork chops were very delicious. Also the key lime pie. Nice presentation. Very good service
Excellent service, innovative cuisine and nice porch. We had a very pleasent dining experience. Best of all: no wait on a weekday evening for a party of five
Neighborhood Gem No Longer. Terrace (the restaurant at the Ellis Hotel) has recently undergone some renovations and new management. They now only offer an upstairs dining experience for events, and a much smaller downstairs area is available to general patrons. I work at a nearby company (within walking distance), and we have favored Terrace in the past for corporate events (probably around 5 events). Additionally, we have frequented Terrace with small and large groups (both in and out-of-towners) for their exceptional food and dining experience that favors local ingredients and Southern fare, bringing them business that totals in the $10,000+ range. After our most recent experience, WE WILL NOT BE BACK. In short, upon arrival for a company event, we were informed that our usual set up is no longer available (even though we had made arrangements beforehand and were told they would be happy to accommodate us). We troubleshooted, ordered some appetizers and drinks and sat at the bar (with the general public co-mingling in our intended-to-be private affair). When we were served the appetizers, WE (and our out of town investors) WERE SERVED DIRTY DISHES. These dirty dishes had salad dressing, food crumbs and had clearly been eaten on and never washed before being reserved. Management offered roughly $10 off (10% off the food only) of our over $300 tab for the debacle. Although food and drinks were still very good (Tim in particular is an exceptional bartender who knows how to take good care of folks), I have never been more disappointed in serving staff and management. Unfortunately due to their new management, Terrace will no longer be the company favorite. They clearly value the short-term bottom line more than a long-standing relationship with a formerly loyal customer.
Great shrimp and grits. We also had salmon and grits upon special request. Nice veggied too. Enjoyed brazen zen. Highly recommend
Just happened to walk by this place and saw the very elegant balcony above. Great organic local food, supporting Georgia farmers and serving solid portions. Left happy.
