Surprisingly Good for a PubWe had heard about their bleu cheese chips, so we decided to give Bookhouse Pub a try. I wasnt expecting much for pub food. And the place itself isnt the most inviting restaurant. Its rather dark, the music is kind of loud, and the bar is populated by people who drink until they fall down (literally). We were surprised that the food was great, but the drinks only OK. We tried a couple of their house cocktails and they were fine but nothing special. The food, however, was very special. We started with the bleu cheese chips which were as good as wed heard. Then we moved on to a salmon entre and a fried chicken entre. The salmon was served on a delicious bed of fresh vegetables. On top were some wonderful pickled capers. The salmon itself was cooked just right. The fried chicken was also delicious. The accompanying collard greens were really good. The only disappointment were the grits which were flat and bland.Service was friendly and helpful and prices were reasonable.Overall it was a really good meal and I would definitely return.
