I went to The Lawrence with my family for brunch. The atmosphere was really nice and there is a bottomless mimosa option for $15. The food was good and our server was very attentive and nice. I really want to try it for dinner because it seems like a good place to go on a date. The restaurant is a little smaller so maybe not the best place to go with a big group.
I live in the building of this restaurant, and am always happy they give a discount to residents. I have never been displeased by the food, however today, for the third time, by the same bartender, the service was awful! How do both bartenders leave the bar, for a wine tasting by a merchant vendor, and not make sure glasses are full? And then when it’s time to pay and I want to leave, no one is paying attention!!?? I have to get a cook in the kitchen to help me get someone’s attention. Unacceptable….my gripe is NOT with Anton….his replacement today, however. This is the third time at minimum, I have watched this guy give less than acceptable service….wth!?I want to love this place and bring guests here often, but the only thing that seems reliable is that this particular bartender will give poor service and this is not something that makes me happy or proud to promote this restaurant!How am I the only person that sees this??
Disappointed. The Lawrence disappointed in just about every way possible– Starting with odd lax service– the waiter forgot our appetizer, begged forgiveness and brought it out after the meal. An uninspired space– as in not very interesting. Music like a nightclub– as in loud (at brunch). And then there’s the food– my fish and grits was bland and half a level above cafeteria food– the salad, underwhelming and underdressed, even the scrambled eggs, course and bland. I had high hopes for this place– maybe they were having a bad morning– but so much was so wrong, they won’t get another chance, from me anyway. This place would seem to be a great bar in a great location– hire a new chef or quit pretending its a restaurant–
Loved this place!!!!!. Loved this place!!! Only thing I did not like was their bootleg Wells Fargo Valet Parking, which is why only 4 stars!. Food was DELICIOUS.. Cocktails were GREAT! Service awesome! Surprised my fiance for his bday by purchasing a ScoutMob experience. Worth every penny! Try the lamb appetizer.. and the strawberry bread pudding.
One of the coolest restaurants in Atlanta, great menu- really interesting seasonal flavors, awesome cocktails and the staff are the kind of people you want to hang out with!
I had the pork belly and cream of cauliflower appetizers. Both were pretty good. For the main courses, I had the salmon and mushroom risotto and my companion had the steak. The salmon was well seasoned, crisp on the outside, and moist on the inside. The risotto was meh. A bit runny. The food could’ve also been hotter. The temperature felt like it was sitting out for a while before the waiter picked it up. I tasted my companion’s steak and it was tasty, tender, and had a nice smokey flavor. Their signature cocktail was different and enjoyable. The portions are indeed small for the cost. I went away feeling while the food was good, it wasn’t so remarkable that I’d return and pay those prices for those portion sizes. If you want to try them, get a voucher off Scoutmob so at least you won’t have to pay full price.
