I think everyone has pretty much summed it up. They just have a great assortment of really good burgers. A place that actually lives up to the hype.
The vortex is a great place to be with some friends and beers. The atmosphere is great and the service even better knowing how crowded that place was. I got the Tex burger with tots which were great! Everybody else looked like they enjoyed their meal. Just a heads up for all those adventuring to the vortex make sure you abide by their rules on the back of the menu and it will make for a more enjoyable experience.

Walked in to a big wooden penis and a bunch of porn on the walls. Walked out. Low class place. No disrespect to them. Just not a place that honors women.
Although there was a 45 minute wait, because of the Valentine Day weekend, it was more than worth it. Our server was excellent and then came the burgers. Two of us had the Classic Coronary and my husband had mushroom with bleu cheese, all perfectly cooked. We had satisfying amount of tater tots and very sweet plantains. Great visit.
We visited the Vortex after a full day of work conferences – we were in search of some comfort food and a stiff drink! Not being from the area – I didn’t realize you could smoke in restaurants/bars here! If you’re looking to stay away from the smell – head to the back area! It seemed to be contained by the bar and outer tables. The food was great – decently priced as well. It’s your typical bar food. Great burgers and sides. ordered a Moscow mule that showed up in a tom Collins glass – it was a little heavy on the lime and vodka and a little non existent on the ginger beer. Gave it a 3.5 for the drink and the service was a bit slow.
I had visited Vortex at Little Five points a week ago and fell in love with the place. So checking out it’s Midtown branch was definitely to be done! This place is much more spacious and crazier ‘artifacts’ compared to the L5P counterpart. Needless to say that the burgers are delicious and the cocktails have an interesting twist to them. It is advisable to come here by 7pm as the waitlist gets really crowded in a couple of hours.
