What a wonderful evening I had dining with Atlantas Twitter foodie celeb @sashaeats! Our meal had been over two months in the planning trying to get our busy schedules to sync but when we confirmed a date, the restaurant Wisteria rose to the top of our conversation.Wisteria proudly touts its Southern fare and we were both dying to check it out. Named for the purple flower that grows wild here in the South, I first discovered Wisteria when we visited Folk Art located right next door. [Read our review on Folk Art restaurant].The experience at Wisteria begins the moment you set foot inside the door. From that point on, you will suffer for nothing. The staff there treats you like royalty! It is top-notch service that simply is a rarity these days. Once we were seated, we soon had drinks and were perusing the menu. There are so many excellent choices that it can be really difficult to make a decision, but fortunately wed done our research beforehand investigating their menu online and already had made our decisions. When I saw @Sashaeats order the Crab Bisque, I had to get it too! Heck, he was the one who had recommended Melanie and I try Firefly in Panama City Beach and their wonderful bisque! I will tell you that I think the Wisteria version beats any bisque Ive ever tried before! Instead of pieces of meat scattered throughout the soup, it is ground up and spread evenly throughout so youre getting a mouthful of meat in every bite. Its delicious and you have to try it!@Sashaeats decided on the Southern Fried Lemon and Rosemary Catfish which comes with a mix of spicy green tomato, okra & crawfish ragout and a remoulade drizzle. @Sashaeats really enjoyed the catfish but particularly commented on the okra. I think theres a Southerner inside everyone dying to get out!I went with the Almond Crusted Georgia Mountain Trout which is served on a bed of vegetables consisting of corn, green beans, roasted tomatoes, fingerlings and red potatoes. At first I thought the almonds was a little heavy handed, but I soon began to enjoy having them in every bite of the fish. The fish was light, flaky, juicy and tender. I really love trout when its done well! Its not a fishy fish so it comes off light and refreshing. I was really intrigued by the bacon vinaigrette poured over the fish that gave it such a wonderful flavor. One of the other MUST TRY items that Wisteria is known for is their Braised Greens Mac & Cheese. Cooked with braised greens it is really a meal in itself. The cheddar is overwhelming and powerful and I loved they used a spiral rotini pasta rather than just plain elbow macaroni. Its all about the details for me, and youll notice those details in every dish at Wisteria! We had such a wonderful time! Good food, good friends and such fantastic foodie conversations! Wisteria was the perfect spot for such a culinary nirvana! We really enjoyed ourselves there and, no doubt, you will have an awesome meal there as well. Guten appetit! atlanta-food-critic.com

My husband and I were in the middle of doing Whole30 when we went to Wisteria. We found things that were Whole30 compliant and everything was freaking delicious. The staff was very helpful in helping us figure out what we could have and modified dishes to fit our restrictions. Enjoyed our experience.

Food great! Terrible bartender!. The food was great! The bartender was slow and had an awful attitude. I have worked in the service industry for many years and I have never come across someone so rude. The chicken was fantastic and our server was awesome.

Dined here on NY’s eve 2014. Was fantastic! Food was delicious and service was superb! It was my wife’s birthday and our waiter and the whole staff made her feel very special with a complimentary champagne toast and a dessert. We also brought our 11 month old and staff was very accommodating. We were extremely impressed as it was really crowded on NYE.
