The customer service here is awful! After several repeat offenses, I’m done eating at this location.

One of the best pies in town. I grew up in Atlanta, and worked at the Brookhaven Mellow Mushroom in high school. You know how if you work some place, you get sick of its food (I still can’t eat frogurt, thanks TCBY)? Well, I worked there for years and still love the place. Very friendly, albeit not always the fastest, service (just remember, most of the servers are stoned, sobering up from being stoned, thinking about getting stoned after work, or nursing a hangover). Fresh ingredients (I know), good sauce, and custom orders welcome.

Always Reliable. I have been chowing down on Pizza from MM for as long as I have been alive and figure I have eaten well over 500 pies! They are an Atlanta tradition and have branched out across the Southeast with well over 75 locations; every location I have visited has been consistent. The thing I like the most about MM is the pizza crust; it’s light and fluffy and full of flavor thanks to the garlic/cheese/butter basting it gets prior to and after baking; it’s truely one of the only crusts I actually eat in its entirety! This particular location is probably the nicest of any I have been to and is quite large. They literally have over 25 TVs positioned so every seat has a view of at least one; needless to say it’s a great spot to catch a game. Did I mention the beer? They have tons of selections on draft, including several craft and seasonal brews. While the service isn’t the best (it’s a pizza and beer joint for goodsakes, not Bones), it wasn’t terrible, just a little slow and passive. They also have great subs, including an excellent veggie option that tastes awesome with their homemade esparanza sauce; the esparanza is a creamy garlic mix that is great for dunking pizza crusts at the end of the meal…when you should really be done but can’t stop eating.

Decent Pizza, Overpriced. If you’re not looking for New York style pizza, then you’ll likely enjoy this. Crust is slightly bready though, not enough gluten to form a nice texture. The only real complaint is that it is very over-priced for what it is.

Wait Staff Suck. This is the type of place that gives you a feel good feeling until you meet your waiter. The staff here is undeniably awful. The use the same nasty towels to wipe down the bar, tables and chairs (when they choose to wipe the chairs). They are not the most patient or most attentive staff by far. I had to flag my waiter for everything. What happened to wait staff bringing you the items you need like condiments and then asking if you need anything else? The waiters here do not check on you while you arre dining. They don’t over you the check without asking. They don’t ask you if you’d like a box. The food is really not that bad but who wants to tip a jer of a waiter for what the cook did?? Trust me, you could do better. Pass this up and get some mexican. El Azteca down the street is a stark comparison. If you really want Pizza, try Nancy’s a Chicago Favorite with great waitstaff.

The best (or close) pizza in ATL. We try new pizza places al the time but have to keep coming back to Mellow Mushroom. The crust, toppings and sauce are all in perfect balance and it is always consistent. Brookhaven location has a comfortable and casual feel to it.
