Excellent fresh, southern food! My husband got the shrimp n grits, which were delicious and flavored very well! I got the blackened salmon prepared medium well, which was also very good, juicy, and just the right amount of seasoning. Staff was friendly and nice. Prices of entrees were reasonable for what you get, which is always a plus! Would definitely come back!

Special Request Accepted. I don’t eat shellfish or pork. That left me two items on the menu to choose from unless they could alter another selection. If so I had 4 items to choose from. Alex was very accommodating in explaining how they could assure me of a pleasant dining experience. Blackened Salmon (without the shrimp sauce) served with Hoppin John and Sauted Spinach did indeed provide me with a most enjoyable dinner. The extra dry martini also helped. And to close out, there was the Bourbon Pecan Pie with ice cream. The restaurant, itself, was great with the exposed old brick walls and the lighting ……. just added to a great experience.

Wonderful Meal and Service!. Michael Russell, CMC has defined gourmet cooking as good ingredients prepared well. By his definition, Southern Table and Bar is a gourmet restaurant. If I had to describe the cooking style at Southern Table and Bar, I would describe as Southern Cooking with an International Flare. There were four in our party. The staff was very friendly and efficient. We started with the special appetizer of Oysters Rockefeller and one from the menu, Boiled Georgia White Shrimp. The shrimp were tender, juicy, and cooked properly. The Oyster Rockefeller reminded us of those we have enjoyed in New Orleans. They served them on a bed of rock salt. Our dinner started on a high note.We had four different main courses. The grilled pork chop was thick, juicy, and prepared, as requested, medium. The sauce added a delightful richness to the chop. Another at our table has the Sapelo Island clam and shrimp capellini. The chef displayed his knowledge because the pasta was the correct pasta for the very flavorful thin sauce of this dish. They cooked the pasta perfectly. This dish was as fine as one would get on the coast of Italy. A member of our party also enjoyed the chicken and dumplings. Again, they were not your mothers chicken and dumplings. This dish had a slight Italian flair because the dumplings were potato gnocchi and they were light and tasty. There were large pieces of chicken in perfectly seasoned thicken broth. There was not one item that we would not order again.Southern Table and Bar is a restaurant that we would recommend. And, it is one to which we would return the next time we are in Brunswick.
