TOURIST TRAP! All hype and no substance. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait 45 minutes past our reserved time before seating. The waiter was sweating profusely, service was slow, and the food mediocre.
If you’re craving delicious seafood, I’d recommend Atlanta Seafood Market. Service and food were both outstanding. We enjoyed New England Clam Chowder, the grilled whole fish of the day, New Orleans style Bread Pudding, and Chocolate Toffee Crunch.
A very pleasant experience. The host was very polite and sat us at spacious table at the windows. Our server was cheerful, attentive and very informative. The atmosphere is formal while the staff are mostly dressed semi formal. As advertised, the seafood is very fresh and well prepared. I would have rated them 5 stars if they side orders had been served at proper temperatures, they were unfortunately warm towards luke warm so cooled off quickly. Otherwise they were properly cooked, lightly seasoned, tasted good and fresh. The fish was very hot and fresh, nicely seasoned and cooked properly. The two of is shared an appetizer and were comfortably full after the entrees.
Sushi was served quickly. Service was good. Fish didn’t taste fresh. Rice was improperly prepared, lacked flavor. I always love this place but I probably will stick to other menu items next time and avoid the sushi.
Excellent seafood. My wife had the salmon carpaccio & I had the crab cakes with calamari as a shared entree. My wife is Japanese so her standard for seafood is very high, this food was perfect according to her. The seasoning on the calamari was just right & it was crispy without being oily, excellent. The salmon carpaccio was amazing, the flavour was wonderful without being overly fatty (we often find salmon in North America to be very fatty, this salmon was perfect). My crab cake was wonderful, full of chunks of crab meat with a well balanced amount of seasonings which just enhanced the crab. They had a good selection of beer, I especially enjoyed the local beers they had to offer. Our waiter was attentive and very helpful & the seating & decor were very nice. There selection of fresh fish at the take out counter was impressive as well. A must eat at restaurant if you are in Atlanta looking for great seafood, we will be back when we pass by next time.
An Atlanta InstitutionA restaurant that has been around for a long time sometimes gets stale and dull and rests on its laurels. Not the Atlanta Fish Market. While the menu isnt especially innovative, it does a great job at it all.For a high-ish end place, it is surprisingly casual. The interior feels like a place on the coast in Florida. Servers are personable yet still professional and knowledgeable about the menu. For what you get, the prices arent unreasonably high.We started with the Crispy Sweet & Spicy Calamari. It was delicious and a wonderful departure from the typical version. We moved on to the Tuscan Kale Salad. It was a large serving and very good to share. For our main courses, we had the Baked Scottish Salmon Parmesan Crusted and the Atlantic Mahi Mahi Hong Kong Style. Both were great and came with wonderful sides. The bread pudding dessert was also delicious, but such a large serving that we had to take it home after just a few bites. It was just as good a couple of days later after a little time in the toaster oven.Goenjoy!
Being from Seattle, this restaurant’s seafood is marginal. The fish was prepared with massive amounts of butter I suppose in an effort to add some depth and tenderness to the dish. The restaurant is not bad, just not that good.
