This used to be one of the best places to get food in calhoun and still offers one of the best mongolian beef plates anywhere. But sadly the place is in need of a refresh. They now have competition from chains.Although many things on the menu are good, the dish that always brought me back in has been the mongolian beef, but its not as good as it used to be. I think the place peeked in around 2001. Since then whenever I return I get a mixed experience. Sometimes its the wait staff that is the issue, sometimes it is the food itself. The mongolia beef used to come out super hot, crispy and spicy with a well developed sauce. On return visits I had anything ranging from burnt beef, soggy or spongy, and gritty sauce (granulated sugar visible on the plate). I haven’t had a great experience in a long time. Is it still good? yes. Is it worth going out of your way to get to it anymore? probably notHopefully soon they will realize the need to get back to the days they were popular and maybe open on Sunday.
