Mountain Food. I love stopping by the Appalachian Grill when I’m in the area. You’re greeted as you walk through the front door with the sound of mountain bluegrass music, which sets up the atmosphere quite nicely. Salads are serviced with a small cake of jalapeno corn bread in the shape of a fish, that’s just kind of cool as well as delicious. Steaks are cooked well, and I usually go in for the Smokey Mountain Trout, which never disappoints. A dark decor, lots of wood and stone, and some big booths make you feel like you’re tucked away in a mountain cabin somewhere.

Waiter was very nice but food was lackluster BLT-bacon very crunchy like it was cooked hours before. Very little flavor. Pasta good but uninspired. Guinness beer was FLAT. Wasn’t taken off the bill.

Going downhill. We have eaten here numerous times and always loved it. We have suggested this place to many of our friends. My wife has heard some negative feedback lately from thee different sources but we still decided we would have lunch last Friday, the salad looked like the marked down bag from Kroger, my wife’s salad had a large stem from a iceberg head and her Appalachian Crab cakes were disgusting a lady came out and apologized and took the meal off the ticket. Now we will have to tell all of our friends to stay away and we have heard about the jerk manager also.

One of the best meals my wife and I have enjoyed in a long time. I loved the Appalachian grill seafood dish. Servers were nice and attentive. Unique atmosphere.

Delightful surprise. Cartersville was simply an overnight stop for us. The Ap Grill was recommended by the desk clerk at our hotel as a location that guests had made positive comments. Our favorite was the black bean and rice soup. We’ve had it many times and this one ranked at the top. The fried chicken had a very light, but not greasy coating. It was tender and moist. The French fries were crispy on the outside and cooked perfectly on the inside. Those are the hi-liters although the rest of the meal was very good as well. We will make this a planned stop over on our future trips.

Make It Date Night. Recently relocated to Georgia and was recommended this location by several area locals. Have now eaten at this location twice since 8/2013 and have pleased.Wait staff is pleasant and menu knowledgeable, overall service was good to excellent.Food quality and preparation is above average. If you don’t mind eating with your fingers a bit, I’d recommend the Ox Tail Entree. It is an item that is a little different and definitely not your normal fair, but it was very tasty and worth trying. On my second visit I ordered the Ribeye steak and was not as satisfied with this entree, but to be honest I am overly critical of restaurant steaks. In this case, I think I may have gotten a overly tough and grisly cut so I will reassess on my next visit. At this time, family plans to make this a regular location of dining.

Awful service from the bar on Monday 4-15-13 to a large group. We all left before eating due to his attitude toward us. Sad that we were large tippers that will never return. Some people just don’t like money I guess.18 Apr, 2013Bartender very rude to a group of 12 from Gerdau on a Monday!. We will never return and be sure everyone knows that customer service is awful.
