What an experience! I have never eaten at an old time lunch counter…until now. The food was good though I think I ordered the wrong thing. I had a salmon cake which was a bit too salty for me, with mashed potatoes and fried okra. The okra and potatoes were great as was the coconut pudding they gave us for free. We noticed that there were a ton of chili burgers and dogs going out the window. They looked relish! We asked one guy about the chili dogs and he told us he had eaten there for 40 years and always had the hot dogs! When I go back…and I will…i’ll have to get a burger or dog slathered in chili & cheese…maybe even slaw.
