No Return Visit. We have been hearing about Scott’s – famous Brunswick stew among other things. Finally, we get here as I have been wanting bbq. NEVER! NEVER! NEVER! Never, will we come back here. The food was not good at all. I tasted a bite of the pulled pork and some of the meat of one of the rib bone. It just was not good. Ridiculous. Collards didn’t taste or look like collards. I added hot sauce and it made it worse. The bbq/baked beans needed doctoring up – it still was not good. Even the tea didn’t taste good. Have mercy. The only thing I ate was the slice white bread-seems like Colonial. My husband ate just because he was hungry. Our child had hotdog and chips. We left and I ended up getting food from somewhere else. Maybe I should have gotten the Brunswick stew. But, it was not what I wanted to eat. Well, you win some and lose some.
Very good Q and sides. Scott is a serious BBQ cook. His brisket is cut thin and juicy. His pork is just right. He’s got several sauces, his original, a vinegar based sauce, a mustard based sauce, and a separate sauce just for brisket. He’s even got a South Carolina style pork sandwich with cole slaw on top of the pork, in addition to the regular pork sandwich. (In South Carolina, the cole slaw on top of the pork would be considered the regular sandwich.) His Brunswick stew won a first place in a BBQ contest and is excellent. For the recession, he even has a $5 special that is a pork sandwich, chips, and drink. You’ll never go wrong eating at Scott’s. And you’ll frequently meet him in the dining area. THE BEST!. Best BBQ I have ever ate! Awesome Carolina BBQ with great sauces. I ate here one day and came back the very next. Highly recommened
Scott’s is hands down the best bbq in town. The mark of great bbq is not the sauce, but the tenderness and flavor of the meat. You don’t need to put sauce on this pulled pork, it can stand alone. But the sauce is so good you’ll want to use it anyway.
Nice, local, clean BBQ joint. I stopped in for a pulled pork sandwich while passing through on business, and was impressed. Best BBQ I’ve had in the area (and NO slaw on the sandwich! Yes!)
That is some of the BEST barbecue that I have ever had. I can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu. The prices are excellent as well. Family of 4 and we all ate for under $25.
Wow. If you haven’t tried this place, you’re really missing out. Pulled pork, ribs, and sides are out of sight! Try to save room for homamade cobbler and ice cream -yup, it’s homemade, too. You’ll be glad you did! Great food, friendly staff, and backyard charm make this BBQ joint a real treat.
