Sad Little Oscar – Pet Friendly?…or just poor judgement call….. I am not one to give a bad review or be negative to anyone, but I am truly disheartened by the service I received yesterday at the frosty caboose. I have been taking folks there for years, taken myself there after a slice at vintage, and praise the place as the best little ice cream shop in town. As a resident of Chamblee, I am proud of the businesses that stay stong. However, yesterday I was disappointed. I took my sweet little pup up there for a doggie cone, and was denied. I opted to get a water or even pay for the little cone itself and was met with a no because I did not want icecream. The puppy cones are tiny and a perfect treat for a dog as it is literally the size of a quarter. Less than a cent of icecream and cone put together. I consistantly have purchased ice cream with my dog and this time asked to buy a water and my little guy was denied. How you could seriously look at a panting puppy and say no when the owner is litterally holding a $20 ready to buy anything else is ludacris. My heart is sad because I really valued this small business and my dog knows when I say we are going to the caboose that he is being rewareded. Needless to say, we walked all the way home, got in the car and purchased dogster iced treats from publix. This is where my money will go to from here on out. I know a lot of people in the Chamblee area, and while it won’t make a dent, I will be telling them to seek ice cream elsewhere. Pets mean more to people than most things if they have them. That is why they are used in sales, marketing, etc. It pulls on heart strings. Shame on you for not realizing that.

Have ended a couple of those great Vintage Pizzeria meals with a cone from the Frosty Caboose. No complaints, just good ice cream. They have to be cramped with 3 or 4 people working in that little boxcar, though.
Great place!. Great little ice cream place for a date or for the whole family. People are friendly, good ice cream, nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.

My kids love it! it is a real cheap outing! get an ice cream cone and then go sit in your car, on your car, on the grass or on their landscaping (hope they don’t mind) and watch teh trains go by. i mean..the trains are right on the property…csx, norfolk southern, and marta…planes buzzing over head landing at peachtree dekalb. it is freaking awesome. kids can climb on board the caboose and ring the bell or turn the brake wheel. best ice cream…..it is greenwood,made fresh right in chamblee. got to see…bring a camera!
Great little ice cream place to stop by, especially at night. Right on the train tracks, which is especially neat when a train goes by.
