Eight of us went for supper on a Friday night& it was one of the coolest dining experiences I have ever had. 2 of our friends frequent the restaurant regularly and were well acquainted with the menu. We were treated like royalty from the entire staff from the minute we arrived. Chef Alexis was helpful, informative, friendly & sincerely cared if we enjoyed our drinks – giving us a mini wine tasting. He was just as particular about our meal. The food was delicious. All of us had something different & each meal was fabulous. This is how eating out should be! We felt like we were part of Chef Alexis’ family.

Beware Of CHEF. I recently received a gift card for UHK and was looking forward to trying it but after hearing a terrible story of how friends were harassed and verbally abused by the head chef I refuse to step foot in the place. Several friends went to UHK for dinner recently and did not enjoy the food. After posting a YELP review the head chef began calling our children’s school principal ( I know, right?!) and other friends and verbally harassing the diners to take the review down. He also threatened to call their employers and report them for drinking ( again, what?!) Many F-Bombs, other HORRIBLE words and a police report have convinced me the Chef is not someone you want to mess with and I refuse to patronize a restaurant that would treat a costumer in such a degrading and harassing manner. Beware of the ANGRY and unprofessional head chef if you decide to dine at UHK.

Worst Restaurant and Chef in Atlanta. I really wanted to like this local restaurant, but was absolutely appalled at the experience I had. The staff isn’t trained – our waitress didn’t know anything about the menu, never cleared items from our very small table and was overall average at best. The food was not described well on the menu – for example, the Stilton fries were basically soggy friends loaded with blue cheese dressing – disgusting. Because we wanted (WANTED) this restaurant to do well in the local area, we talked with the Chef/Owner to give him our feedback. He was defensive and rude. He ended up asking us to leave just because we were sharing our feedback with him – not being critical, but constructive in the hopes for improvement. He was a JERK. Unfortunately we will have to wait a little longer to get a gem of a restaurant in Chamblee – this one certainly isn’t it!!! Don’t waste your time!

Decent Lunch. I’ve passed this place a few times and finally stopped in for lunch. The decor is kind of modern-chic, but the colored light bulbs in the chandelier kind of threw it off. At lunch you have to go to the counter towards the back and place your order there. They then bring your meal to you.I went with the Burrito Bowl and I added salmon. It was a decent sized portion and I had no issues with the amount of salmon, especially for the rather small surcharge. The salmon had good flavor in addition to the black beans, tomatoes, lettuce and rice. The bowl was honestly nothing special… I guess I just picked the wrong item on the menu. It was a very typical burrito bowl, and if I hadn’t added the salmon, it would have been very bland. The other lunch options sounded promising, though.I’ll definitely be coming back to give this place another chance. Like I said, there are more options that sounded promising for lunch. The dinner service is supposed to be completely different, as well, and I’ll have to give that a shot, too. I’ll vote then.

Still learning. We had a great dinner Friday night at Union Hill. This small space will be a nice spring / summer spot when the garage doors can be kept open all night (or that random 60 degree night in December) and has the potential to turn into something special. Keeping in mind this was there third dinner service, some of the following is just working out the kinks. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will likely work this into our rotation. Service was attentive, but still felt like front of the house was training and we had to help them through those awkward moments. When we asked for a wine menu, the waitress pulled a sheet of paper out of her order book (would suggest printing one up or adding the wine/beer to the cocktail menu). We didn’t try the cocktails, but started with the french onion dip app. The dip was very good, but the chips were lacking. Seemed to be just shy of opening a back of ruffles in the back. But all in all a good start. The dinner menu is currently limited, but hopefully there will be more to come as the place gets its feet underneath it. Between the four of us, we had all three entrees (doubling up on the fried chicken – which was the right choice). Peanut encrusted small ribs, lamb shank, & fried chicken. The ribs were definitely unique and had great flavor, but left me wanting a little more sauce as the peanut crust seemed to leave the bites a little dry. The Lamb Shank had good flavor, but the fried chicken by far was the winner. So much so, we enjoyed the last few bite the next day for lunch. The price point at about $18 – $22 per person for the meal (without wine or beer) was in the ballpark too. Good stuff, keep it up. Worth a shot in my book.

Disappointed. We were so excited to finally see this restaurant open for dinner. My husband and I arrived on a Friday night around 8 p.m. We waited 15 minutes for watered down cocktails which we ordered from a special cocktail menu. The Beet Tartare appetizer was worth waiting for and was amazing. We both ordered the fried chicken for dinner. 40 minutes later we were still waiting for our dinner to arrive. But the couple that sat down next to us a good 30 minutes after we were seated were served the same fried chicken only 10 minutes after they ordered their dinner. Our waitress was shocked to see they were delivered dinner before us and the chef came out to apologize. But this was not the only couple who sat down after us but was served before us. So we paid for our cocktails and appetizer and told them to cancel our meal. The menu was limited to three entrees so it was not acceptable that the order in which meals were being delivered seemed to be random. Totally unacceptable to us since we eat out regularly and try to support local establishments. I hope they work out their kinks soon as there is great potential for additional quality restaurants in Chamblee.
