Great Chef. This is a little hole in the wall with small rotation of regulars. The owner is there most of the time and is very hospitable. As far as a small neighborhood bar goes it is average, the drinks and the karaoke and open mike nights are standard fare and fun if you are in the right mood.Their regular bar food is all very good, but they always have some specials, I recommend trying them, no matter what they happen to be, the chef is excellent, all the appetizers and other meals he creates are delicious.I honestly think he is wasting his talents here at Bradley’s.So here is my opinion, if Red Sky were to steal him away, it would be a MUCH better tapas restaurant because the quality of the food would then match the fancy decor!
This Place Makes Me Happy. I live close, so it’s a perfect spot for me to just mosey on out and veg. As a regular, it’s a really comfortable, easygoing place for me to spend my time…and for those of you who aren’t regulars, come more than once and the odds are pretty good that, unless you adamently don’t talk to ANYBODY, at least one person will already remember you on your second visit. For, admittedly, kind-of a dive-ish bar, the food is impressively pretty darn good. The soup specials are my particular favorite…I’m told they’re made fresh, and unlike most restaurants that claim this, I actually believe it. The other food specials, and really just the menu in general (average bar fare, on the whole, but fresh and well-made) are great, too. They don’t really offer any special drinks, other than this little thing they claim to have invented called a ‘Bullet’, which is a mini-Jager Bomb (which is actually great for those of us who have a little trouble choking a regular-sized one down, although, don’t worry Jager fans, they have those, too). But the bartenders on the whole can make a mean cocktail, and their prices are pretty decent for the Atlanta area. Also, they sometimes have live music (depending on the night), which is mostly really cool…and sometimes they’ll even let you participate! No, it’s not just karaoke (although they do have that, too, on Thursdays) but also a couple different open-mic nights where you can bring your guitar/other instrument along and jam with others. I know the guys who run it, and they’re really nice. Also, there are live bands and (unfortunately) a Saturday-night DJ (which is the one low point for me, because loud, obnoxious hip-hop is really out-of-character for this normally chill spot).Overall, probably my fave local bar. Like I said, it makes me happy. 🙂
