Saturday afternoon hibachi was very good. I would recommend.
What Happened to Fuji Hana?. Fuji Hana has always been a go-to restaurant for my husband and me – the food and service were always superb. But that’s changed. The past few times we’ve been, the food was lackluster and the service worse. Today’s experience was so awful that we’ve decided we won’t be back. I ordered a salad with my luncheon order of ramen noodle soup (I could have miso soup or salad with the selection, so obviously I wanted the salad). They brought soup. It took about 5 minutes to get a waiter’s attention And when I told her I had wanted salad, there was no apology. Then we waited. And we waited. We had ordered haru maki (to start). After about 20 minutes, our meal arrived. My husband’s steak was cold, and his rice was not the traditional rice used in fried rice and my soup was lackluster. And there was no haru maki. They hadn’t put the order in, but they did. It arrived well after we had finished our meals. Greasy and just not good. We’ve been eating at Fuji Hana for just about a decade and we’re so sorry to have to write the restaurant off. But when the food is only so-so and the service horrendous, we can’t justify the cost.Good bye, Fuji Hana.
The Fuji Hana I liked is gone. New Post: Something has gone terribly wrong here. I suspect that the owners have changed. The downhill slide of Fuji Hana seems to have been when the restaurant’s name was changed to Fuji Hana Japanese and Thai Restaurant. The old, friendly and efficient wait staff is gone. So too, if seems, the excellent chefs, who apply their traditional craft to produce superlative Japanese cuisine. The new focus seems to be on hibachi, which isn’t the traditional display of the chef’s outstanding knife and cooking skills, but just the same old approximation every Japanese steakhouse offers theses days. Gone, too, are the cloth napkins ( now cheap paper), glasses (now plastic), and china rice bowls (also plastic). The new staff is confused, disorganized, inattentive, and do not have sufficient English with which to communicate with patrons. The famous Japanese politeness and attention to detail when waiting table is sorely lacking. They just do it by the numbers, as if service isn’t supposed to be part of the experience. This is not the Fuji Hana I have enjoyed since 1996.Old Post: Only 74% likes this excellent restaurant? Amazing. Fuji Hana is the best Asin restaurant in Cobb. Their Japanese cuisine is excellent and authentic. Forget the sushi. Everyone does Americanized sushi because everyone thinks they are hip for eating it. Sushi is supposed to be eaten ritualistically and in small amounts. Go for the many excellent traditional dishes. Forego the hibachi, too, since it is also an American invention.
U r better off going to Publix than eating their sushi!!
Decent, but not spectacular. Had much better hibachi pretty much everywhere else we’ve been. The white sauce that I love at every other place was odd at Fuji Hana and had a minty after taste.
The sushi was very fresh. Our chef was fun and entertaining. The staff was friendly and attentive. More $ than we wanted to spend but it was worth it.
The sushi rolls are great!
