Went down hill fast. My family and I have been going to the Azteca Maya on Oxbow Dr. since we moved to Georgia. We had great experiences every visit. The waitstaff got to know my family and son well. The last visit, however, we were trying to use the frequent customer punch card that we had used and completed at least 4 other times. This time we were completing our 5th card at least. Now we have only lived in GA for 16 months so that gives you an idea of how often we dine at this restaurant. This last occasion they refused to take off one of our dinners. When I brought this to the gentleman who was checking us outs attention he adjusted the amount taken off and gave me a new total which was still more than a dollar more than they were supposed to charge me. I brought this to the attention of gentlemen again. At this point he went to get his manager. The manager proceeded to tell me the total was correct and that was the total. I then completed the total for the food in front of him and he grabbed my credit card off the table while I was showing him the calculation and attempted to charge me the amount he suggested. This upset me more than a little. He then refused to bill me the appropriate amount and said I would pay his amount or nothing. After at least 5 very embarrassing moments waiting for him to ring me up for the appropriate amount (I wanted to pay my bill, but the correct amount, not the amount he pulled out of his hat) he threatened to call the police at which point I considered myself to be trespassing and reluctantly left. I have never been treated so badly at a restaurant before and will not be going back. It is very sad because this was a great place that my family loved to eat at and now we can never be back. I am not sure if it is new ownership or management, but this has got to be on of the most embarrassing moments of my adult life. Worst part, the waitstaff that loves my son was keeping him occupied by playing with him and my wife the whole time. Greatly disappointed and deeply saddened

Really great food!. FINALLY somewhere that I can go for well done Mexican. It is a little off the beaten path but my friends and I will make the effort to return. It’s small and unassuming on the outside but well done and tastefully decorated and clean inside. Friend and I ordered the LaMacarena for two. The meats were fresh and cooked properly, not tough, stringy, overdone or left over from the day before as I’ve seen done at other Mexican restaurants. The seasonings made the meats very tasty and weren’t your run of the mill flavors, you wanted to keep eating even though you couldn’t. Friend and I both received a plate with shredded lettuce, sour cream, guac, pico de gallo, rice and beans and they complemented the meats nicely. Tortillas were hot steamy and fresh. REALLY liked this restaurant and I know that I’ll be back again!
Chips were light and salsa good… Better than most. Try the stuffed chile…very good. Tough location, so it’s difficult to put on the normal routine.
A Mexican restaurant that stands out from all the rest.
Yum yum yum. This was the first restaurant my husband and I triend when we moved to town and it was a great find! The staff is friendly, the service is good, and the food is fantastic. It reminds me a lot of some of the food I’ve had in Mexico. The prices are great too.
Great Mexican!!. This great little Mexican restaurant just expanded to the unit next door for additional seating. The margaritas are cold and the food is authentic. A great place for low cost with good taste.
