Don’t waste your time and money. Food was just gross, sauce was awful and spinach was frozen. Drab, depressing feel in the restaurant and the staff was slow and disinterested.07 Apr, 2013In a word–gross!. Took the family for a nice dinner out, it was really not what we expected. Daughter’s pasta dish had unidentifiable brown sauce on it, so gross she did not eat (and no one else wanted it either!) All the food seemed as if it was frozen reheated, not freshly made. Disappointed.
We really really wish someone would turn this place around. We used to be regulars here but over the past few years the service has really gone down hill. The food is still great, but the service makes it almost unbearable to eat here. It’s not the staffs fault – it’s very clear they are understaffed. We hope someone in charge will please take note and makes some changes before this place is gone forever…
Mama Maria shouldn’t let her kids run the biz. Atmosphere:Upon walking into the restaurant, the air was adolescent. It felt as though children were playing restaurant. We – my wife, mother in law, 14 month old son and myself weren’t given the option to sit on the patio, so I requested. After a lengthy sitting, our server finally graced us with her non concerned presence. I still don’t know her name. But she openly offered that she was pregnant as she yelled across the patio at 2 little boys who were clearly free range children. It took most of the evening to get the 3 very easy drinks we ordered , mainly because I went inside and asked for them. The only thing we got in time were the poorly made salads that came with our meals. Never a refill on the water we all ordered. Food:On any occasion, open whatever can of Chef Boyardee you have in the cabinet, warm a loaf of Walmart French bread sprinkled with parmesan and butter melt and have some random, pregnant redneck 19 year old in the room walk by occasionally, and you have experienced Mama Maria’s.In closing, this restaurant needs to hire more experienced staff. They need to realize that Georgia is a warm state and the patio should at least have salt on the table and a refill of the patron’s water at least once. And that maybe, just maybe, if the waitress brings the adult drinks faster, they might just get a better tip. And more than anything, oregano is key to a good Italian dish.
Just Rude!. I have eaten here a few times but the more I went in over the years, the worse it got. My first experience wasn’t too well because of how crowded it was. I eventually gave it another chance and it was better. As the years went by though, their staff’s personalities changed as well as the manager but more importantly, the taste of the food was NOT the same, it was awful. As I brought to the managers attention that my food was still undercooked, he became upset and said I would not receive a refund. As I tried to reason with him that I didn’t want a refund or anything else, he rudely starting yelling at me. This was not the first time this had happened. I have had friends and family who have had the same problems with the same gentleman and I’ve experienced it in the restaurant with others myself. Months later, I was coming back from out of town and stopped here on my way home. I called in a to-go order to avoid any of the manager’s nonsense in the restaurant but once I picked it up, I was missing half of my meal! I called back to inform my server who took my order who then put me on the phone with the manager. He again started yelling at me, over the phone, about refunds and hung up on me. Never again have I nor will I set foot back in this restaurant after my experience.
I have gone here for years! It is still awesome food! The service can be hit or miss. The servers all same to be young pretty girls. Which in its self isn’t a problem, but they seem to have mood swings.
USED TO BE GOOD. My husband and I discovered this place in 2009 and really enjoyed going there, especially for large groups, during 2009 and 2010. But when we went there for a special event this year, the service had changed. When the food was brought out, one person’s portions were significantly smaller than the other one’s (we ordered the same thing). Then the bill came and the prices charged were higher on every item we ordered than what was on the menu – one item was increased 33%! When we pointed this out to the server, she said we must have been given an old menu, but she would not honor the prices we had been given. Since this was a special event, we didn’t want to ruin it further, so we let it go and decided not to go back. Later, I thought that since the service had been good in the past, the manager would want to know there had been a problem, so I contacted him. I was wrong, he did not reply. Then I contacted the owner, but again, no reply. I really miss the way it used to be – too bad it had to change.
Huge menu with lots of variety. Pasta was cooked perfectly. Great service too.
