It has been so long since I have dined at a Red Lobster that I don’t even remember when it was. My wife and I were looking forward to our date night dinner. What a disappointment! The service was slow. We were seated immediately, but then waited ten minutes before our server greeted us. We placed our order – bottle of Merlot, side of New England clam chowder, Caesar salad with shrimp, and a main course of New Orleans Salmon. The main dish was served with Caesar salad, mashed potatoes, and steamed broccoli. The wine finally arrived after the first course of chowder and salad was finished. Even though the server acknowledged that we were without wine twice. The server of the wine removed the cork without cutting the foil and left the jagged pieces of foil on the bottle. This is something I will do at home when I am feeling lazy, but I do at least tear the edges away from the opening of the bottle. This is not something that I expect to see at a restaurant like Red Lobster. If you are going to use a separate server to deliver and pour the wine, it should be done right. On to the food. The chowder tasted like it was poured straight out of a Campbell’s soup can. The Caesar salads appeared to consist of plain lettuce and the dressing tasted, once again, like it was poured straight from a bottle of Caesar dressing bought in a grocery store. The shrimp and salsa that was served on top of the salmon was very savory and created a delicious balance of sweet and savory when combined with the butter sauce. Unfortunately, the Atlantic salmon (I am guessing farm raised due to the sustainability issues with wild) lacked flavor. Very typical for farm raised fish. The dish would have popped if had been made with Pacific Sockeye Salmon. At the end of the dining experience my wife had to wave the server down and request the check even though we had been finished eating for ten minutes. The final display of poor service occurred when someone unknown to us came and asked if we were ready to close our tab. It was fifteen minutes to closing time but we perceived this as being rude and pushy. It was obvious that we were ready to leave. In addition, I don’t understand the lighting in this restaurant. It was very dark, more like eating in a cave. In closing, as most of you probably are aware of, the Red Lobster cheddar biscuits are amazing. Very light and deliciously garlicky! Unfortunately, we were never asked if we wanted another basket of them, even though they are supposed to be unlimited. We will go back but only to use a gift certificate for appetizers and a margarita. Never again for dinner. When I go out to eat, I expect food that is better than what I can make at home. In the case of Red Lobster, they failed the litmus test.
My husband and I stopped in for a salad and appetizers. We got fried calamari and veggies and crab dip. Both were disgusting! I couldn’t eat them and I’m not a picky eater. We will never go back.

They do take coupon other than Redlobster we site cupon. Quality very fair for the price.
