Love it. It’s second to my kitchen. There at least once a week.
I finally stopped in here after driving by it for years. Very glad I did. I had an early dinner before a meeting so it wasn’t crowded and service was fast. It does have a much more urban vibe than you would expect in a rural setting. But the tall mojito was perfect, and the chicken schnitzel was crispy and delicious. Be warned that the cheese grits have a bit of a spicy kick to them that they don’t mention on the menu. I’ll be back to try other dishes for sure.
Very unique location with fantastic ITP feel but being OTP. Food is great and above average beer selection. Each time my wife and I have gone the servers were spot on and were very personable. Keep up the good work Union!
First Visit. Our server was excellent. did not get her name but she was attentive and accurate. the fried Calamari appetizer was very good as was the chicken Parmesan. skip the pizza and mama sedwitz pasta. the shrimp and grits were tasty as was the burger. yes I tasted a little bit of what everybody ordered. friendly rural atmosphere. good casual place to eat.
Comfortable bar, excellent food. I prefer to sit at the bar which is friendly and warm; the tables are not very inviting and that section could use a remodel. The food is always excellent. They do change the menu up each season. The salmon quinoa is a favorite. Incredible chicken parmesan, which I try to avoid due to this is not one of their non-lowfat choices. Good steak frites. Great filet mignon at reasonable price. Very good burger. Ahi poke appetizer is good. Swiss salad is unique and healthy, similar to nicoise. Love the sides of collard greens, creamed corn (real), cheese grits; these are the southern cooking part of their menu. Also has outside seating when weather permits.
Union is one of my favorite restaurants! Love the food and healthy sides. The black bean/ quinoa cake is the best I’ve had. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Not So Groovy. We live just around the corner from Union. When we first moved here they had organic chicken on their menu and gluten free options and we ate here frequently. Those options are long since gone pretty much leaving us with nothing to choose from (my son and I have gluten allergies). In this day and age with people’s food allergies you would think they would at least have GF pasta or something of that nature on hand and a vegetarian option too. The last time we attempted to eat here our server sat us and then neglected us for a good 20 minutes before we finally got up and left. Such a shame because it’s so convenient but between the bad service and lack of choices you won’t find us eating here .
