Great Mexican Buffet. I drove down from Chattanooga on Saturday afternoon, and was very satisfied with the food, and the Restaurant. The place was clean, the food looked and tasted great. I will definitely go back again. I loved it, and the price was under $10. which I thought was very reasonable. The staff was very courteous and polite.
No Ice !. Ate at this buffet once before, not so Great out of most food on buffet ! Had to wait for more food on many items! Some were never brought! Moved to new location thought give it one more try! After being seated I order iced tea to drink! Was told they had no ice, come on a restaurant without ice (hielo) then the waitress tells me it’s not her fault ! And if I wanted something else to drink! I don’t think I want to pay 10.00 for buffet and 2.00 for ice tea with no ice! So we left,I’ll have to think twice before I go back to this place!
Gross.. After hearing great reviews of the Mexican buffet from friends and family, I wanted to try this place, but I was disappointed. The food was really gross and lukewarm. I could not finish the enchiladas because they tasted so bad. All the chicken tasted the same, no different seasonings. The queso dip was too congealed to eat. I ended up just eating tortilla chips with sour cream, guacamole and refried beans. The guacamole was ok. The desserts looked unappetizing. The fruit was from a can and they had frosted cookies from a box. I expected at least a warm tasty meal but did not get that. With all of the other wonderful Mexican restaurants in town, I definitely will not be visiting the Mexican buffet again. I hope I do not get food poisoning.
GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!. I love Mexican food!! So, when I heard about this restaurant, my mom and I both had to check it out. I thought every thing was delicious and it was affordable. The atmosphere was awesome and the waitress was really nice. I would and am going back in a heartbeat!!
A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT. In truth, I never really found a reason to write a review for a restaurant–that is until I ate in this establishment, so I’ll just go ahead and say it this instant: I’m not some snotty alleged amateur food critic that just vomits crap just for the hell of it. I’m just a regular Joe that just likes to have a good time when coming into any establishment. When I first heard of this buffet, it was through a relative and she was telling me of the positive experience that she had that day and later recommended that I’d go next time I swing by the area. Its rare that I go to a new restaurant. I get nervous on the basis that the food I’m about to put in my watery mouth might not be so good. So I lowered my expectations, in other words. Finally, when we came, it was around Lunchtime and what I noticed right away was that the place was nearly empty. Upon arrival, there were probably around eight people for a place that seated forty; furthermore, there wasn’t any music playing, it was (until the midpoint of the meal) blight with dead air. It gets better. Although I knew that this was a buffet to start with, but when one opens a Mexican restaurant of ANY kind, it is expected that there’d be chips and salsa at the customers table. A cardinal sin to neglect those chips and salsa. Strike one. When we finally got to dig in, there was another thing that was definitely off: which was that the sneeze guard wasn’t low enough to actually protect the food from being contaminated from human discharge. So I proceeded to take some food with caution. So I took some food, only to be confounded yet again. Although the labels may say enchiladas and burritos, I could not tell the difference in the slightest because they look exactly the same: corn tortilla wraps that are plastered–PLASTERED in cheese. To make matters even worse, the overwhelming amount of cheese when placed in the heating tray for a long period of time, was just basting in cheese sweat, which made the tortillas really, REALLY soggy. The burritos and enchiladas were so marinated in cheese sweat, that I couldn’t finish them, which even made my throat and tongue burn. Strike two. On the insistence of my mother, I tried the beef and vegetable soup. They couldn’t possibly screw up something as simple as beef and vegetable soup, right? I couldn’t have been more wrong in MY LIFE. The beef in this soup wasn’t at all tender. Instead it was rubbery, gristly, and inedible. The carrots were not even peeled properly; and the cabbage tasted really, really old. I’ll just assume that the soup in question was reheated multiple times throughout a span of a week, possibly longer. Now, I was willing to forgive them for the soup, but the last straw that really broke this burro’s back was that they were missing one crucial thing. It doesn’t matter if the place is Chinese, American, or Thai. A restaurant, under ANY circumstances, MUST have dessert. This is the only buffet in the Dalton area that does not serve dessert. The only thing that they had that resembled dessert was a tray of old watermelons slices. They didn’t offer flan, no tres leches cake, hell they didn’t even have jello and ice cream. Strike three. Remember the music that didn’t play until mid-meal? This little element, which really doesn’t matter for some patrons, became the figurative middle finger of this experience. The music, which was strictly merenge and not a mix of latin (that includes corridos, cumbias, etc) and pop music, kept going in and out (mostly out), which was beyond annoying. The only positive thing that I can say is that the servers and hostess was extremely polite. In closing, this was really the most frustrating experience that I had with a restaurant. EVER. Every aspect of this experience made me really angry to the point where I wanted to just scream at the cooking staff for doing such a poor job in making somethings as simple as enchiladas and burritos into subpar disasters that would make anyone with a sensible palate shrivel in despair. I mentioned the chips, salsa and dessert requisites to make a point that its the little things that make a huge difference between winning your customer over, thus returning for more, or scaring them off for good due to crappy quality food. This place may have an A by cleanliness standards, but this place deserves an F for quality and effort. I’m VERY disappointed in this place. So consider this review as a PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT. PLEASE DONT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!! AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!
