Stopped in and tried the Garlic Fish today. It comes with three fish filets, probably tilapia….very good. Three sides: Crab Salad(tasty), Cucumber Salad(better than expected) and their delicious rice. I also sampled the Steak Quesadilla and it was pretty good.The service seemed a little off today and makes me wonder if they were understaffed? Another gripe I have was the dining room temperature. I am hot natured so I don’t mind the AC, but it was freezing. I felt bad for people who are cold-natured. I saw a guy go outside and get his jacket.27 Feb, 2012Steak, Chicken, and Fish Tacos. I had the fish and chicken fried. The fish was the best of the three. The steak was so bland that it was like eating nothing at all.21 Jul, 2011Different..in a good way.. I ate here for the first time for Monday lunch. The menu consists mainly of seafood entrees, in fact, there are several items that are very unique. I went simple on this visit and had a Shrimp Burrito. It was very good, stuffed with jumbo shrimp, rice, cheese, pico de gallo, and a secret chipotle sauce. Service was good. Health score was a 96. Atmosphere was nothing special, just an average dive. I plan to return to sample other goodies on the menu! This menu is not your typical Mexican menu, at least for Dalton, GA.
Slow! Food is okay… Not what I expected from other reviews. Not good enough to try it again.
Sad :(. This was one of my regular places. You can’t get quality seafood like this anywhere else. The flavors are authentic and off the chain. Their health score and plate presentation are always consistent. They always had a health score over 95, and I always ordered the same thing every time I went in. Their A La Diabla sauce is like no other. It makes me sad that I may never eat here again. I have to drag my husband to this restaurant in the first place because he’s not a big seafood lover, but the last time we went, he was sacrificing for my shrimp craving. Things went pretty much as usual, the people even recognized us and asked about his brother. Then they started bringing the food out, and everyone else was served except my husband. We waited and waited, but the server didn’t return even to fill up our drinks. Finally, my children and I were finished eating, and stacking our plates up and I could see that look on my husband’s face. Every wife who has ever drug her husband to a restaurant that he didn’t want to go to knows what look I mean.I went to ask about his food, and a server (not our server) met me halfway up to the counter. She said that they had to clean the fish, and that’s what was taking so long. My husband told her to just cancel it. They did, and we paid and left. As a regular patron of this establishment, and having had such wonderful experiences in the past, I just couldn’t let it go. So I went back in to talk to the Owner’s son. I explained the situation to him, and told him how disappointed I was that no one seemed to care that a regular customer was leaving without having even been served.He was very apologetic and vowed to give us the royal treatment when we returned. The only thing is, I don’t know if we ever will. If it had been my food that never arrived, I could have forgiven it, but my husband didn’t like seafood to begin with, so all he needed was a reason. How can I ever convince him to return after that?
Love this place!!. I eat here every week!! the only seafood I eat from a restaurant!!!I love the camarones ala diabla!! and tostadas de ceviche!!!
Fish tacos. Delicious!13 Feb, 2012Delicious!. I’ve picked up to go orders several times, and I love the fish tacos although I think they needed more spice, so the next time I asked and they gave me exactly what I wanted! I look forward to dining in!
Great food… great cocktails. This is my favorite seafood restaurant in Dalton. My wife being the expert says their Margaritas are the best in the world…. My favorite cocktail is the Manhattan… and they nail this one down also….. their shrimp and pulpo (octopus) cocktail is very unique… i am seriously addicted to it… have tried many things on the menu and am never disappointed…. so do yourself a favor and get to this place asap… you will be glad you did.
It is different…. In a very good way ! Like Gula1 says, mostly seafood and many items not available in other local restaurants, whether Dalton or Chattanooga. I ordered take out today, but I will return to eat in and try some of the entrees. Today I started out simple with fish tacos and steak tacos. The steak tacos are served traditional style with onion and cilantro and corn tortillas, unless you actually prefer flour tortillas… but corn is the real thing ! The fish tacos have lettuce and a light mayo/tarter sauce on them. Both were good, but I like just a little more spice…you do get salsa and lime, and the salsa is warmer than typical. The place is very clean and the service was prompt and friendly. I personally expect that I will like the other items better than the tacos, time will tell and I will add some notes when that occurs.
