Good combination of items but for reasons that escape me, the Oakwood fare has become rather tedious (read: dull). Id like to see more variety in the way food is cooked and presented (not more menu items). My 2 cents.
I have gone to the Oakwood for years for lunch and recently more often for breakfast. There are so many different items that are great and we have used them for office and home catering. The Oakwood Breakfast is a great value. Turkey and Dressing and the smoked chicken are always great. And so many vegetables that are hard to make at home.
Chicken Livers are the best around. If you are like me and love a good chicken liver then Oakwood has the best in the area! Its my go to spot when I’m craving them..
Value, Good, Hot, Friendly, Fast !. What do you want for this price ? Its a great deal, please move a location of Oakwood to Chattanooga, we do not have any good meat and 3 places at all. Mt Vernon rocks but is 3 x more expensive than you and you better have 2 hours for lunch, Southern Star is OK but 2 x as expensive as you, Wally’s is low grade dog food, and Cracker Barrel is the King of Chattanooga for the quality for the dollar… that is sad . Cant anyone cook from scratch anymore without charging you 3 x’s as much ?
Awesome!. Oakwood cafe is located in charming downtown Dalton. The inside is cute, with brick walls and industrial design. The food was great, we had friendly service and the food came exceptionally fast. The price was great for the amount of food I was served. The vegetables like greens and green beans are cooked with pork, but there are plenty of other vegetarian options on the menu if you don’t eat meat. We will definitely be returning to the Oakwood Cafe

The Oakwood Cafe is probably the best known restaurant in Dalton, GA. It’s been in operation for like a hundred years or so. I’ve enjoyed all my experiences here. The atmosphere has a nice downtown vibe. The service has always been fast and cordial. The restaurant is always clean. The menu is unique and simple. The food is great quality and filling. A friend and I had lunch here yesterday. I ordered the Smoked Chicken, which comes with two breasts. It was accompanied with their signature BBQ sauce. I almost always order a Baked Sweet Potato and enjoy it with their Cinnamon Butter. We had a wonderful meal and I am looking forward to many more trips to the Oakwood.
