Great Indian Food. After ordering delivery a couple of times and really enjoying my food, I decided it was time to stop in and see what the dining experience was like here. It’s in the North Hills shopping center, which I’ve mentioned in other reviews that this isn’t a good thing for most restaurants. However, it is next to one of the few places that has stayed open for over 10 years, so hopefully the increased foot traffic right next door will get them noticed. The decor is mid-upscale. They have red walls with wood trim and the tables all have matching red tablecloths. The staff here was great; they’re very friendly and easy to talk to. I held quite the conversation with several employees, but unfortunately that was possible because I was the only customer in there. At least the delivery driver was busy. Now for the food. I went with the Chicken Sag and asked for medium spiciness (can’t quite handle native-spicy yet), but they offer a wide range of spice levels. Every meal comes with some tasty mulligatawny soup and basmati rice. The Chicken Sag was very fresh and spiced perfectly (an enjoyable heat that produced a little beading of sweat on the forehead). The smell was amazing and the taste was even better. I also had a side of nice, light and fluffy garlic naan to go with the Sag. This is seriously the best Indian food I’ve had yet. I’ve also had the Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Vindaloo delivered and both were great.Overall, Heart of India has probably become my favorite Indian place at the moment. The food is just so damn good! I must add that this place makes everything to order… as in they don’t have a buffet. I love that. While I don’t mind a decent lunch buffet, it’s nice to see an Indian restaurant actually cares enough about the food they make that they don’t want to offer a buffet that diminishes the quality. Props to these guys!
Food was good. Everyone here was so nice!
A passionate owner, focused on quality ingredients and customer service. I’m so happy to have this place so close to our house!
Best new Indian restaurant in Atlanta! We first tried it in July 2013, and we have already been back several times with different people. Every meal has been excellent.
Good Indian!. We just had lunch at this newish restaurant (6 mos.) and it was great! We’ve tried many indian restaurants in Atlanta and this was tops. The service was quick, friendly and helpful. We had lamb curry (med.) and lamb biryani (med) lunch specials. The spice was perfect. They also have a really good spiced iced tea. The portions are generous, the price is great, and include soup, main entree, and kheer. They also deliver within a 7 mile radius free. Will definitely go back in and order for delivery.
We love Indian food. My daughter and I dined at Heart of India on July 3, 2013. Our dinners were delicious! We shared the Onion Bharji appetizer. It arrived as four large, crispy bharji’s. My Chicken Korma was loaded with breast of chicken in a delicious dark cream sauce. My daughter’s Vegetable Korma had a wonderful variety of veggies including zucchini, cauliflower, carrots, potatoes and peas. The raita was thick and yummy. My daughter loved the plain naan. I found it a bit ‘floury’ tasting. The tamarind chutney was very thin. I prefer thicker chutney’s but the flavors were great.
Just left dinner at this restaurant and everything was fantastic! We had the shrimp masala, lamb masala, and tandoori chicken. They were each fresh, piping hot, and packed with flavor. The naan was fresh and soft. The mango lassi was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back.
