The food is always yummy and pretty quick. I love the ginger salad dressing and teriyaki chicken hibachi. The young staff always gives great service. Also I like seeing the owner out on the floor checking on guests and helping bus tables. Really good place. My only complaint is that I have a designated Okinawa jacket that I bring with me because it’s always freezing in there.
Take Out is Great. I read that some people don’t like the fact that they do not give you salad with takeout. I asked Eddie Yap the owner why they don’t give you salad with takeout. He explained that they prepare the takeout meals in one container and the salad doesn’t travel well and isn’t good if it gets mixed up with the rest of your food. They therefore don’t want to send you home with a dinner that isn’t all consistant. This seems to make sense to me.
Not impressed. We didn’t order sushi or rolls so I won’t speak to that. We did however order Yaki Soba and were a bit surprised to see Chinese egg noodles instead of soba noodles. And the lack of Udon noodles also surprised us. Soba is a buckwheat noodle small and usually square because of the way its prepared. Anyway, service was good, but definitely not impressed with the food.
The service is great! They’re sushi is really good too. My boyfriend and I have been a couple of times and our favorite is still the crispy crab roll.
On another visit from Florida and with our family we again dined at one of our favorite places. Okinawa did not dissapoint us. The food and service has been great every visit. Our server Haley even remembered us from our last visit in December. We love the intimate dining of the small private rooms in the rear. I love it when we leave with smiles on our faces. We have had great service and the food has been everything we expected. We even got to speak with Eddie the owner on this occasion to wish him well and to let him know how much we love his restaurant . We will always visit Okinawa when we come to visit our family here . Great sushi, nice atmosphere, and very friendly and attentive waitstaff. Good selection of nigiri, rolls, hibachi. Okinawa has far better food and prices than other nearby Japanese places. The two or three roll combo offers a selection of about 12 basic rolls to choose from and includes a salad and soup. No soup with takeout though (not sure why). The basic rolls in my opinion are just as good as most of the fancier ones and much cheaper and better than getting the takeout sushi at publix or Kroger. Wish they were open on Sunday.
The food is not bad, but the the take out meals are a complete rip off! They are the same price as dine-in meals, but do not come with a salad. With young kids we almost never dine-in so I guess we’ll be ordering somewhere else until this is changed.
