BonJuk is one of a growing number of specialty Korean restaurants in Duluth. They specialize in Juk (aka porridge). The place is tiny but has a lovely tranquil interior. Juk is supposed to be for sick people, and it would certainly be perfect if you were sick but no need to save it for just those times. Juk is wonderfully restorative at any time. BonJuk does juk right, with pure and simple ingredients. To some it may seem bland especially compared to many other firey korean foods. Just keep eating. It is guaranteed to grow on you by the 5th spoonful. By the 20th spoonful you will be in that happy comfort food place. I love the hobakjuk, rich pumpkin with tiny rice dumplings and red beans. The premium priced juks on the menu are worth the extra cost. This is definitely a must try place. Nothing better on a cold day.
