Not my favorite. My 4th time there and I’ve never been too impressed. Once would have been enough for me, but I’ve always went with other people who wanted to go. I love Cajun food and if you want Cajun food, you have very little choice around ATL so this place will do in a pinch. They have recently moved from the quaint little old Duluth hole in the wall place to a more updated and larger place not too far away. I did like the uniqueness of the old place. The new place is 3 or 4 time the size of the old place. I was there on a Saturday night with a large group and apparently they weren’t ready for the full house. After waiting for 15 minutes I had to run down a wait person for our drink order and then we waited a long time to have our order taken and even longer to get our food, which we got piecemeal rather than all at once. It was close to an hour before we got our first food. We had to send one order back twice before they got it right. Our service was very sparse. Instead of trying to make things right about the delays and wrong order, the waiter was kind of a smart ass about it. My opinion of the food is that it’s mediocre, the service is even worse! The gumbo had only a few shrimp and a couple of pieces of fish in it and not much flavor for gumbo. I’d much rather have the gumbo at Jason’s Deli. The fried shrimp on the Po Boy was a bit bland and the bread was very narrow and high, making it hard to eat because everything kept falling out of the bread while trying to hold it and open your mouth wide enough to bite the thing. There was hardly any sauce on it and yes, I could have asked for some more, but that would have probably been a 20 minute ordeal from what I had experienced so far. I wondered if the owner actually ever tried to eat one of these things himself. The grilled grouper fish fillet was good and the fried oysters were ok. For the prices, the food should be better and the service should be MUCH better! The owner isn’t the friendliest person in the restaurant business and rather than give you a feeling of a warm welcome, he tends to project that he is annoyed with his customers. I could deal with the food not being the best, but the attitude of the waiter and the owner is inexcusable. I hardly ever complain about something like this, but my group’s experience here was unacceptable on all levels.
