Great pizza and they also have a bar with a lot of different beers. It’s very small and family owned. As a matter of fact Todd the owner is a Dunwoody High School graduate. This place has great Dunwoody roots. Empire State Pizza is a proud sponsor of Dunwoody Boys basketball for past few years. Todd would love for all Dunwoody families to come out and join him for dinner .

Worst Service ever I ordered a salad and cheese sticks and 45 minutes later still no food! The bartender Stacy made the excuse that there was only one cook on a Friday night and there was 5 pizzas in the oven yet there was one table in the restaurant and I saw at least 3 people in kitchen! Every time Stacy is there it takes way too long to get our food and I will never go back!!

Enjoyable food, good beer, ok service.. I stopped in for lunch to try and find somewhere new that was close to my office. I tried stopping in earlier in the week, but they were closed due to staffing issues. Apparently, that issue has been rectified since they were open today.I went with the Costanza combo, which is any of their hot dogs, fries, and a hosue beer. At $6, it’s a pretty sweet deal. I chose the King of Queens dog which comes with chili, cheese, and bacon. The dog itself was really good and had a decent snap to it. The chili was also tasty, but the flavor of the bacon was hard to pick up from the chili and cheese, even though there was clearly a good amount of bacon on it. The fries were average crinkle fries, but were cooked perfectly. My only complaint was with the service. The server was extremely friendly, but was clearly new. I feel for the guy, because I’ve been in that situation in the restaurant industry, too. However, I was overcharged (which I noticed after I had left) and was brought the incorrect ticket (I gave him a card, but was brought back cash). Minor mistakes that anyone could have made and are easily fixed with a little bit of experience. I’m still waiting on a phone call back from management regarding the overcharge issue and will update my review after that has been resolved.Overall, the dog was enjoyable and the draft selection is quite nice. Added bonus for filling growlers, too. The pizza looks like it could be good, as well, and I will definitely try that next time. They have some really good deals here that are extremely hard to beat. The service was friendly, but lacking. Like I mentioned before, though, it can easily be corrected with a little bit of experience. I’ll definitely be back.UPDATE: Management took care of the overcharge quickly. It was a combination of me misinterpreting the menu and the server being new. No harm done; all is well. I will return.

Best pizza/menu I’ve found around. I lived in NYC for 20+ years and have found really good pizza hard to come by in Atlanta. Mellow Mushroom’s good, Fellini’s is good, Dagwood’s in Roswell is good, but Empire State has a much broader menu, a great selection of draft beer and, contrary to a couple of the other reviews, I’ve always found service to be VG. The owner and his wife are constantly circulating, making sure things are to your satisfaction. I’ve been there about 4x over 7 weeks and always found it consistent.

Great food, poor service. The pizza is so good. The beer selection is top notch, but the service is really lacking. I have been in a few times and each time they are understaffed or the wait staff is unattentive and rude. We order pizza for take out now. I hope they will improve their service issue as it’s a welcome addition to the Dunwoody area.
