Fast service good food out of control screaming children. I’ve been to Los Rancheros dozens of times. It is very consistent. Every time I go, the food is good but not great, and the service is lightning quick. It is traditional mexican food, very similar to an El Toro or El Azteca, with a good selection of seafood which sets it apart from the more generic mexican restaurants. The service is always very fast, almost too fast. They want to turn tables over quickly and sometimes you feel rushed in and out. If you want time to relax and enjoy your margarita I would wait about 10 minutes to order because the food usually comes within a few minutes of ordering, leading me to suspect a lot of things are pre-made. However, the place is always so packed the food is fresh and hot and it does not taste like it has been sitting out.I suspect that many of the bad reviews occured during especially busy times on the weekends. I recommend timing your visit either right at 5:30 or 6, or wait until 8 or 8:30. One final word of warning: this place is family friendly, maybe too family friendly, so out of control kids can be a problem. Another reason to just wait until 8:00 or later to go.
Los Rancheros is an okay Mexican-American restaurant. If you like decent food with an okay wait staff then you’ll be fine here. Often crowded with large lunch groups and Dunwoody families who can’t control their children.
Lunch at Los Rancheros. I ate lunch at Los Rancheros today in Dunwoody and was blown away by their guacamole. It was freshly made and seasoned just the way I like it. But if you don’t like onions you wont like it Their lunch food was good. Their menu looked nice for dinner but I live in Roswell and it is too far to drive for me. I would recommend this restaurant.
Our favorite spot in Dunwoody. We have been eating at Los Rancheros for over ten years. The wait staff and owners have been nothing but polite. The carnitas (pork loin) dinner, Camarones al ajo (shrimp) and our most popular, One Chicken Burrito Especial, are what we usually order. The beer is always cold, margaritas are good. The restaurant is packed on the weekends, so get there early or plan to wait. Live music on the weekends, and it is very very family friendly. The student crowd loves the 99c Tacos on Wednesdays. We love it!
Worst service ever!!!!!!. Worst service ever! The server knocked an entire glass of red wine over on me and soaked me from top to bottom, not to mention my watch and my iphone. Then the so called manager argued on how accidents happen…yet still 2 minutes later (while i’m still dripping in red wine) threw the full bill on our table! Meanwhile, they only decided to comp the glass of wine…i was still cleaning myself up while my hubby just wanted to get the hell out. Never going back!
The food here is amazing and excellent. The staff and service is absolutely prompt, quick, and friendly. Also, the food is always plentiful and abundant as well. I love the quality of food and service here. All around awesome food and awesome service.
I have been eating here for years with friends who live in the Dunwoody area. Los Rancheros is our default Mexican restaurant. The prices are reasonable and we always leave happy and full.
