I have NEVER EVER in my life been to a worse restaurant. Even my server apologized for how terrible of a place it is. They were out of cheese dip, guacalome, steak, and pico de gallo. They were even outta the flavor margarita I wanted & brought me one claiming to be the flavor I ordered.

Good food – terrible service. It probably should have been a sign when it took us a few minutes to get seated when nobody else was waiting, then when the girl serving water spilled it all over our table and left without trying to clean it up. But the food was really good, so we were ready to forgive based on that. Then the bus guy took our plates, and we sat. And sat. At least half an hour later our server came to check if we wanted anything else, but then instead of going to get our check, he proceeded to wipe down every other table in the room, and then slip out the back door. After we waited for another ten minutes, I had to actually go ask at the bar for our check, and was then given someone else’s. Needless to say, next time we feel like Mexican food, we’ll stay in Gwinnett.

Great Lamb tacos. I have been twice to Luna Nueva, once on a Friday evening, and once for lunch on a staurday afternoon. Friday had the best lamb tacos, tender, seasoned throughout, and wonderful. Staurday, they had already run out, and they were also unable to make pico de gallo. Like most mexican places ITP, there are a few menu items done well, but for the most part look for neighborhood joints from Marietta, to Norcross, to Buford Highway, good mexican is not a proper phrase for this establishment, but through carefuil questions you can discover a gem like the lamb tacos.

Not so much. I went Sat night for an event; I decided to arrive early to eat before the show. Started off with guacamole and a margarita. The guac was good; however, the margarita was the worst I’ve ever had. I couldn’t really describe what was wrong with it to the bartender. He took it away and came back with the same drink; his fix was to add more tequila, so then it was just nasty and strong. I ordered the chicken tamales (based on reviews); the consistency was off and the chicken was tasteless. IMHO Amy’s organic frozen tamales are better than Luna Nueva’s. I will not eat there again.

A Gem in Little Five Points!. Love the decor–sunny and colorful and reminiscent of Mexico City.Love love love the salsa, chips and queso fundido–I admit I ate so much I was full by the time my tamales arrived. But the tamales….oh the tamales…fluffy and flavorful with a side of rice and refried beans (with chorizo at my request). Mmmmm! The server was timely and very helpful. I will definitely go back to this L5P gem.

A find- and real Mexican (not tex-mex). This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Mexico City style, and truly tasty and authentic. Great salsa. Wonderful salmon with a delicious sauce. Now has a full bar & great Margaritas. The owner and chef are very nice, and will come out to talk to you. Just went there after a month in Mexico and was not the least bit disappointed (but here you can drink the water…) Service could be better, but be patient. The chicken enchiladas (marinated 24 hours) may be the best in town. This place should be packed- try it before it is.
