Good food, a bit overpriced. This is the kind of high-quality neighborhood shop that deserves to succeed. The chef-driven sandwiches are truly fantastic, and all the goods in the place — especially the wine selection — has a strong emphasis on quality. I do think the prices could stand to be a bit lower (more people would frequent the place then) and I wish they had a wider selection of groceries.
Great Salad Plate!. Went there for a quick bite with the hubby today. I knew they had sandwiches, but wasn’t sure about salads. Since I try and avoid wheat, it was a pleasant surprise to see a Chicken Caesar on the menu and a you pick three salad plate. The chicken salad was awesome with apples, raisins, celery, and pecans. And the seaweed salad was divine. I’m sure we will be stopping back for another bite soon!
I love the mercantile!. The Mercantile just makes me happy! From the soups to the sandwiches to the chocolate truffles, everything is so yummy!
