Like staying at home and microwaving. The food is not bad if you are used to pulling something out from your freezer and popping it in the microwave. Then letting it sit for a while before you eat as the food was not piping hot when served to us. We waited for 20-25 minutes for food so we were thinking it would be homemade fresh!I got a crab cake which was perfectly round and breaded heavily. It almost looked like you could cook it by popping it in your toaster. (Mrs. Paul’s perhaps?) My peas were good but like from a can and no seasoning and the tiny cucumber salad was decent. So, the food is not bad but more on the level of microwaving a plate at home. Oh, and the flatware is truly flat. Pressed out of sheet metal thin type. Very flimsy. For almost $20 for 2 people, we wished we had spent more wisely.

Homestyle Cooking. Love the variety and the vegetables are the best. Try the fried chicken Thursday special for only $4.99. It comes with two sides, biscuit or cornbread & tea. My favorite sides are collards, fried green tomatoes and any of the beans. Everything is great! A must try for everyone!

Good Country Diner that Plays with History. First and foremost, this is a great diner/cafe that serves up a great breakfast. Everything is fresh, servings are large and the service is excellent. I had Pork Chops with Eggs and toast the it was excellent. Too easy to overcook Pork Chops and end up with a dry amoprhos mass but these were nice and moist with a excellent. Ordered my eggs over well but the still came our slightly running but still passing. Everything else was great. The comments about playing with history refers to the railroad theme. Kennesaw which in 1862 was called Big Shanty was the beginning of one of the most colorful episode of the Civil War called the Great Locomotive Chase. The railroad theme is a natural. The Whistle Stop Cafe refers to the movie, Fried Green Tomatoes and the restaurant sells Fried Green Tomatoes memoribilia at the cash register. Problem is the Whistle Stop Cafe is probably 80 miles or more down I-75 on the other side of Atlanta in Juliette,Ga. It’s about 8 miles off of I-75 but if you have time, worth exploring and the food is great also.Getting back to the topic, this is not a review of the Whistle Stop Cafe in Juliette but rather the one in Kennesaw. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good Country Style Breakfast.

Best Fried Chicken in Town. Those in the know – know where to go to get the best fried chicken in town. The Whistle Stop has the best home cooking around and so many great vegetables! The service is fast, courteous and budget friendly. Now that they are in this location at 41 and Barrett Parkway theres no reason not to stop in. They also have great breakfast specials, so if youre in a hurry during the morning, stop by for the best breakfast deal in town. And if you can bring some youngsters, they will be entertained by the train that runs overhead.Come by and enjoy soon.

Not for Everyone. My husband and I went here for breakfast last week. The food was nothing special, though it was fine enough. This place, however, is not for those with high amounts of melanin. On entering the restaurant, my husband and I were greeted with lots of stares. One woman stared at us so long and hard, she had to verbally acknowledge us to end the awkwardness. Throughout our meal, we attempted to ignore the wonderful paintings celebrating the confederacy. Too many breakfast places for me to return. I am certain my presence won’t be missed.
