OMG the food is the only thing that has me coming back! The first time I had the Arrachera, I had hoped they had churrasco, but the Arrachera was not what i expected and it was PHENOMENAL . Medium well is the way to go! Their coleslaw with the chipotle mayo is the best I’ve ever had. Their pinto beans and their white rice mix so well together! I never knew they would be that good! So many new things they have now. They now have an ‘agave’ bar. Which I assume is for the tequila (made from agaves) they now sell. They moved their store and their decor is simple and so CUTE I LOVE their decor ! My server , Susan i think her name was , really made sure you had an awesome dining experience. She recommended the fresh lime squeezed margaritas I absolutely LOVE. Always greeted with a smile as soon as you walk in the door, But lately, La Carreta’s service isn’t as good as it used to be when I first started dining in. The (venezuelan/colombian?) server is no longer there. Practically overnight, almost the entire staff was different. As long as their recipes don’t change I’ll keep on coming back!

I want everything on the menu!. Well, not really, but maybe. My husband and I ate lunch at La Carreta yesterday and what a treat it was! We started with chips, salsa and queso with jalapenos. I am fairly certain it was all made to order. I ordered the skirt steak, with black beans and Mexican cole slaw. The steak was perfectly seasoned and served in such a way, the onions could be avoided, without losing the flavor they add. We also enjoyed the homemade corn tortillas with a lime avocado sauce. For the first time in a long time, I was sorry I was full – I wanted to order more.The next time we visit, I am ordering the fried plantains (tostones) with guacamole.
Awesome authentic tacos. What can I say, you want good authentic Mexican food in Marietta? Try the place you will love it! While you are there, try the plantains. I never particularly cared for plantains until I had theirs. Do not shy away from this place because of the location or if you can’t speak Spanish. I promise, once you go, you will feel right at home.
